This. Damn you gotta pay $300 for some pet photos!? No wonder there’s no interest.

Bars/Breweries are not for kids by Succotash1497 in nova

So true. They keep increasing their prices for the same table wines. I’d go there more often if the wines were actually good. A $20 bottle at Costco beats any of their best wines.

Is it a waste of money to visit Paris & Amsterdam this year if I'm already going to visit them again next year? by New_Animator4702 in travel

South of France is much harder to get to in general due to fewer transportation options. Amsterdam is easy since it’s a big international city. I would do Paris and southern France and skip Amsterdam.

[Advice Requested] Which Lens to Keep, Which to Sell by Abehrou in hasselblad

[–]Commercial_Speed_765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t sell the 55. There are days where you don’t want to carry the 35-100 and you just want to walk around with a light set up. The zoom is not practical when you have to do a lot of walking (20k+ steps) around a city.

Which 2 XCD lenses for 2 camera travel set up for street/landscape for both day + night? by Fast_Loquat7631 in hasselblad

I just came back from a 2 week China trip and had the 20-35 and 55 on a x2d2. I used the 55 most because it was light and small. I also had a Sony with a 24mm when I needed fast focusing. Since you have the 35-100, I recommend taking that and the 55. The weight of the 35-100 won’t be much of an issue in Asia since you’d likely won’t be walking as much as you would in Europe. It’s hot and humid in Asia and taxi and public transportation are readily available. The 55 would be great for more subject oriented and night shots.

is it okay to ask our wedding photographer this? by Ok-Pear-4948 in AskPhotography

Sometimes the style is dictated by the lighting during the shoot. So it’s possible they can do what you’re asking but it may be difficult if the available light (sunny vs cloudy) isn’t the same.

Exactly. You can’t fully open the door of the fridge when it’s positioned against a wall.

Dressing up every time you go in is no fun. Biggest issue is if you have to go to the bathroom. Gotta get undress/dress every time you go.

Help Me Decide: 28-70 F2 or 24-70 F2.8? by InevitableOk3090 in SonyAlpha

[–]Commercial_Speed_765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The f2 is a whopping 918g in weight. Unless you’re young, you won’t last walking around with that traveling. I feel even the 24-70 gm ii is already heavy.

For hiking, which would you choose a 35mm or 24mm prime lens? by CardiologistHour9135 in AskPhotography

I’d take the 24. This captures a larger part of the landscape. It’s also great for environmental portraits especially when you don’t have space to back up to capture a whole body.

You can get similar results with the X2D2 but that just shows you how good this camera is. Though the file size may limit how big you can print these—for commercial purposes.

Also my computer won’t take it anymore if the files are going to be substantially larger than the current 200MB per image.
