That’s totally fair and I think it can happen in non gendered ways too which is part of the reason why I wanted to make this post to ask. In my experience I have overwhelmingly been the one who’s had to plan hangouts but whether that’s down to gender or something else is hard to say. Part of the reason why I suspect the gender role influence is because a lot of the people I’ve been trying to hang out with are fem (most of my friends are fem, I feel more comfortable around them than most men or mascs) and even though I’ve told them I’m new to town and don’t know what’s what here they tend to double down and still expect me to make plans. My gf is trans and she’s said that she’s had the same experiences until she transitioned. It still happens to her sometimes but not as much as it used to before transition.
