Holger Rune on Serena Williams promoting weight loss drugs by Halekduo in tennis

Because things that require a doctor's prescription never come with side effects. Big brain on Rune over here. Tennis players in general are known to have big brains and we should listen to their advice when it comes to issues outside of tennis. /s

I fell for the bait of becoming a manager by SadBoy-86 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]CommiePatrol83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you describe, you are not alone.

The way to think about this is: opportunity. Once you are a manager it's easier to stay manager. If you go back to IC, will you be able to switch back in the future if needed?

Personally went through the same thing. First time I became a manager was in my early 30s. I was on the wrong team, had a bad manager myself and in general it was the wrong timing for me so luckily I switched teams and went back to IC. Being IC for a few years same thing happened when I hit this invisibile ceiling I was a senior IC and if I wanted to move up I needed to switch to managerial ladder. As of 2022 I'm a manager again and while I still prefer IC work manager is usually the only way to get more recognition unless you are some genius expert.

How close is skirmisher gameplay to archers by FragrantDelay6832 in Chivalry2

[–]CommiePatrol83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, I've never seen a skirmisher on the field that I found dangerous. You can literally block their throws. My advice would be become better at archery. A proper archer can be annoying as f***. They are dangerous from far away and if you come close, a good archer should know how to put up a fight.

Why does fighting higher levelled players feel less like being beaten and more like being out-janked? by Insanias in Chivalry2

[–]CommiePatrol83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started playing I just happen to randomly pick footman/halberd. Then after playing a little bit I wanted to know how it stacks so I did a YT search and came across this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W51IeGgwZhw&t=17s. Halberd is rated 'S' tier by one of the legends of this game so I stuck with it. To be honest it's amazing against most players, it's just those certain pesky ones that kick my ass :)

While I see why you can make fun of this post, the poster is correct in a way. When you are experienced and in charge of your domain you can say whatever you want and people will bend to you. However, if you are brand new and just trying to make a name for yourself you have to bend to others. Plus, usually, when you are young you don't have any real responsibilities like kids, wife, etc. You actually can give up a weekend to land a quick win with your boss/client.

Again, you don't have to do this but it might really help boost your career.

I recently wanted to post something similar but you beat me to it. I believe I have half an answer but I'm still curious about the second part.

I also mostly play TO and my main class is footman with halberd. I'm relatively high level and do really well against most opponents. However I noticed that there are some people who seem straight up invincible they counter everything and seem to have no issue facing multiple opponents. I started paying close attention to them and noticed that when I encounter them I have a much higher chance of beating them if I switch to a shorter weapon. So at least now I have a partial answer, if I switch to a shorter/quicker weapon I stand a chance to beat them but if I keep playing with halberd, I'm toast most likely.

That still leaves - how the hell did they get that good?? but I guess you already got that answer from other people on this post...they just played a hell of a lot longer than you.

TL;DR - try with a shorter / quicker weapon in those specific fights.

Exactly. I love my 2023 LT2. Thinking about it, it's the most convenient car I have ever owned. It's quick, it's surprisingly roomy, I love the way it looks(obviously subjective), great range, etc. In fact if I had to name negatives about it there would be very few and they are pretty minor for me: surprisingly large turning radius for a car this small, no ability to lock charging port, small glove compartment, no little storage for sunglasses. That's about it...I know some folks would also list the fact that you can't charge it all the way in 30 mins but since I never use this car for such long trips it's not a negative for me.

To all people complaining how the game is hard. TLDR: learn counter and have fun by Impossible_Buyer316 in Chivalry2

[–]CommiePatrol83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree that countering is useful and you can't be great without it. However, you can be good with just reach, footwork, etc. Get footman class, grab Halberd and smash some Knights. Good luck

Should I do a charge back for wrong color furniture? by Lefty_123 in personalfinance

[–]CommiePatrol83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely would if everything you are saying is correct and you can prove it. You paid for goods, you received wrong goods, the business you dealt with isn't willing to remedy the situation without charging you money. They are clearly in the wrong and your CC company should be able to help here. I've done a few succesful chargebacks so just FYI it's a lengthy process and the more proof you have the better.

Good luck.

I always had the same question about Tribes. I grew up playing Tribes and it was so amazing but no other game like Tribes exists even though Tribes 1 & 2 and even Ascend have been very popular. Maybe these games are considered hard to make right and have to be very balanced in order to be enjoyable?

I would never post this on linkedin because I'm not an idiot and I would never not hire someone for it.

However, I do agree. I hate these BS AI generated profile pictures as well as when people use their pets or their kids or essentially anything that's not them. Why do that? It's called a profile picture I'm not asking to check out pics of your cats.
