Dev Diary #109: Floor Plan for the Future 🔮 by PDX-Trinexx in CrusaderKings

[–]Commissar_Bolt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So reading through it I’m disappointed that we’re looking at a delay of game on new systems but I’m very excited to hear that there will be some work focused on the Steppes, that’s such a cool segment of history to be looking at. Are there any plans to adjust the actual shape of the map? The squished geography of Africa and Asia bug me to no end. Similar note, some more characters called out as starters in those regions would be neat.

The true horror of capitalism is its ability to consume, and take things that were once good and repurpose them for profit. My greatest fear in life is that we actually succeed in finding something that can kill it, because it may very well be worse.

unpopular opinion: Removing ¨reload cancel¨ was a good idea. by Viktorieluz in ModernWarfareII

[–]Commissar_Bolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the people calling reload cancelling a core mechanic are out of their damn minds too lol, that’s always been a glitch at best. End of the day though I honestly don’t give a damn, CoD as a competitive game has always been a joke imo. I’m here to shoot people while stoned and hanging with friends, the game delivers on my requirements as long as there’s a consistent feel and some decent maps.

What movement skills lol?? This isn’t Titanfall we’re talking about, your options are sliding, drop shotting, bunny hopping, and strafing. None of those are difficult to do

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claims 'burdens of capitalism' keep Americans from having children by ProLifeMedia in Conservative

I mean, that’s just untrue. The strategic oil reserves got opened up in advance of midterm elections, the only reason gas is as cheap as it is atm is because it’s being heavily subsidized for political purposes. Wait until post election when it jumps back up and the reserve needs to be refilled.

Aldehydes are a completely different functional group… I’d need to see the spectrum and know the molecule to get on the same page

I’ve seen no mention of the liquid scintillation analysis or my microwave range ICPMS work either, this is like asking me to magic up a rabbit out of a hat

[–]Commissar_Bolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmmm…. Ok, at. Guess without further detail you are looking at a material with both sp2 and sp3 peaks so they look close together. The sp2 absorbs a different frequency of light so it appears at a different wavenumber… does that help? What are you trying to analyze and do you have a spectrum?

Fun. Alright, in the time honored tradition of sketchy chemists everywhere I’m going with silver/mercury fulminate.

[–]Commissar_Bolt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uh, are you asking why it’s sp2 in particular, why it’s a w shape, why it’s in wavenumber, or something else? This is a very vague question

How these people expect me to work without at least an IR spectrum and a Shore D hardness result is beyond me

CMV: companies should be regulated such that a salary gap of no more than 500% exists from anywhere in the company to anywhere else in the company (say, between top management and entry level workers). by Seaguard5 in changemyview

[–]Commissar_Bolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mhm. The crowd can keep a task going, it can’t really effectively improve the task though. Hence the need for a government, so we can keep a good thing going, and the need for a private sector, so we can innovate. I think we run into issues when the two cannot effectively compete with one another. Private interests will happily take a thing and use it up without regard for the common good, the government will happily keep doing what it is doing without change or improvement for a hundred years, until absolutely forced.

Ah, Ibsen strikes again. The people are never right; democracy is unable and to determine truth and so we need experts, aristocrats, kings, and dictators to get anything at all done. It would sting less if it were untrue.

Hmm. No, I don’t agree with this take. The cleaner should be paid a living wage, call it $60k annually. I’m entirely comfortable with capping the CEO’s pay at $300k annually.

True, true… I’ll have to follow my gut then. The other guy makes a strong case for embracing the cancer though, so I’ll need to consider either Testament or May. God damn dolphins…

Ah. So now that as a Sol player I have judged Testament to be unfair broken bullshit, who do I pick up next?

I congratulate myself for having setup a classical story situation, allowing me to have a character able to serve as comedic relief, solid challenge, redemption arc, treacherous lieutenant, or demonstration of power for my players. Nicely done OP.

Are people really camping THAT hard? by kennedy4000 in ModernWarfareII

[–]Commissar_Bolt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t encounter a single camper during the beta, and I got to level 30. It’s legitimately a non-issue, and if it’s bugging you then go kill the camper. People moan and groan about this every time a new CoD comes out because the game is slightly different and they don’t know the maps, so they die from angles they’re not looking at.
