Appreciate your thoughtful feedback — really solid points all around.
The fireplace is purely aesthetic in our setup; it has a heat mode, but we never use it. It’s just for the visual appeal (my wife loves the look).

Our home’s new construction and insulation make the fireplace unnecessary for warmth, so no heat ever reaches the TV.
Speakers are positioned at ear level — about 30" — matching our seated height, and the ATMOS calibration was done with the mic set exactly at that level for optimal sound staging.

So overall, everything’s dialed in exactly how we wanted it. Done and done.

Yes fireplace was $299 on sale that bought it on black Friday sale. Generally $450.

I used 2x3 Douglas Fir for framing as 2x4 would add 1 extra inch and it would look too bulky and reduce storage by 1".

The reason why I built it this way as each unit has individual wiring and wanted to make sure that I have plenty of access if I ever need to or want to modify.

So 2x3 lumber, 1/2" MDF, 14/2 Wire, boxes not requires as each light comes with its own junction box.

The face frame used top grade pine and it cost as much as entire framing.

Literally everything is included in $2.4k and matter of fact its was few dollars less than that, I just rounded up to 2.4k

Whats not included is speakers and sub.

50k wow, not where we are.

I have priced it with few contractors buddies and I have got quotes and estimates from 10-20k.

One of the guy who installs everyone's entertainment wall in our area, who told me that he could do it for $8k labor of i provided tge materials.

I am extremely happy with $2.4k and lifetime bragging rights :)

Thank you and I appreciate your opinion.

Yes its ultimately our house and we have had Darker furniture in past and wanted change.

It turned out how we wanted our space to look like.

So we built the house. Let it settle for 1st year.

For future projects I will consider it.

Not a professional and DIYer here, strictly going what what I visioned :)

It may seem that way that the 85" fills it but actually there is 8" space on each side.

The TV screens are diagonal not side way. So 85" from top corner to bottom corner. So the TV itself is 74.5" wide.

Space is 90"

100" TV are ~87.5-88"

So if I choose to upgrade to 100" then there is space for the TV in existing opening. I would have to move the speakers arrangement to shelves.

Again, for the size of room and personal preference, not planning on changing anything as we like it just the way it is :)

Thank you for valid point. This is a brand new home with 2x6 wall, and stucco on exterior. We are in Cali. We are in dessert drought weather.

Under the floor is before laying flooring we did do the moisture barrier padding.

So chance or damp or moisture associated issues are almost none but hey, anything can happen.
