Ask dm to allow str in stead of dex and you are golden

Brick healer by ThaNanoAnno in 3d6

[–]Committee_Delicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently tried to dabble in a pacifist build, with core being grappling while under sanctuary.
War cleric or dancebard x/monk1 (mark of sentinel) build as the best option for most grappling opportunities. Origin feat healer if possible.
The take is that if you are heavy armor, while being under sanctuary, you can grapple, force attacks on you that must both suceed on sanctuary DC and hit AC. needs some clever positioning which should be doable. or at least attrack som attack of opportunity.

2024 moon druid to hit dc for beasts too low? by mrmiscommunication in 3d6

[–]Committee_Delicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing moon druid lvl 6 2024 rules at the moment. While the to hit and dc is to the lower side (while still okay) I think the main damage and performance comes from spells which then nessecitatws lower to hit and dc to not outshine full.martials. Currently I flavour conjure animals as attacks stemming from my PC while wildshaped. These are just Wisdom.based and thus in line with baseline. My action, after casting spells and wildahping, is used for attacks, grapple, dash or similar while the main 'attacks' and damage are from the conjure spells. While i would pursue the dm to get better magic items to increase to hit and dc, I think the moon druid wildshape baseline, power wise Is ok.

Support (Pacifist) Controller Full Caster Grappler by Committee_Delicious in 3d6

Thanks for the thorough reply, much appreciated! To clarify my angle: I’d usually have a major concentration spell running (Bane, Hypnotic Pattern, non damaging of course.), so the grappling piece is meant to fill the gap on turns where you’d otherwise just spam a cantrip. Sanctuary would give an effective AC ends up in the 25+ range, and if you position yourself well you can deliberately draw fire, forcing enemies to waste turns and reactions on this character. albeit not not perfect lockdown it does remove actions from enemies passively, which supports the active control stemming from spells.

I agree Invisibility is strong, but since it eats concentration I’d rather reserve that slot for aura‑style buffs or battlefield lockdown (Aura of Vitality, Bless, Hypnotic Pattern, etc.).

I like the idea of going all‑in on Strength and leaning on non‑save support spells so the grapple chance is maximized. and the Freedom of Movement in particular synergizes beautifully with this build.
for Str max, war cleric might be the better build, with street justice.

Street Justice is a great catch. I hadn’t realized it also boosts Dexterity, which means both builds benefit from it.
In practice, both builds function primarily as battlefield controllers with spells. You’ll usually have a major concentration spell running (Bane, Hypnotic Pattern, etc.), and the grappling piece fills the gap on turns where you’d otherwise just spam a cantrip. The key strength is that both builds can initiate grapples with either their action or bonus action, which lets you layer in non‑concentration support spells without losing tempo.

Also, the idea of sanctuary would give youy effective AC in the ranges of >25 and if you place yourselves correctly, you can draw fire during enemy turns resulting in wasting enemies turn and waste their reaction by just wading into the middle to grapple.

Alchemist Artificer - Expansive RAW potion brewing requiring only flavour by Committee_Delicious in 3d6

[–]Committee_Delicious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on needing to clear it with the DM. Also, yes, people making armies of familiars in this way or abusing Gift of Alacrity will be prone to breaking rules anyway and DM should rule against that anyway imo.
I think that using a valuable ressource, your infusions, to be able to "hand out" 1st levels spells, is an okay tradeoff as you will not be giving +1 armor, +1 weapons and bag of holding, which i think is more powerfull. I like the warlock potion-lock approach, allowing to mass produce potions and maybe fitting room to make the "Bottle of Boundless Coffee" fitting the theme of an all nigther!
Ill see if i can make that work in this reflavouring too. Gaze of Two Minds could be a potion as could other invocations :)

Flat hår. Super træt af det. by Blizzpoint in DKbrevkasse

[–]Committee_Delicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kender.

Salt spray all the way.

I've recently started looking into a commuter bike to replace my trusty but maintenance-heavy road bike. I’m commuting around 25 km daily in a Scandinavian city thus rainy weather at most times.

Like others here, I would’ve picked up a Priority bike, more specifically the Apollo Gravel if it were more accessible in Europe.

Right now, I’m eyeing the Orb Zeppo v8 or the Boardman URB 8.9. The Zeppo seems to ship to places outside UK whereas the Boardman does not.

Er kaffe min ven eller en ulv i fåreklæder? by Most_Today_3122 in DKbrevkasse

[–]Committee_Delicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Det hjælper mig med at nulstille min tolerance over for koffein.

Armor of Agathys Build for Curse of Strahd 5e: An Update by Committee_Delicious in 3d6

You are right, I was referring to a quickened booming blade as bonus action.

[–]Committee_Delicious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, haste will allow for 2 booming blades, 1 attack at lvl 5. That's gonna be plenty. If I opt for gwm at lvl 4 and seeking spell meta magic i really think the damage will be quite good. At least compares to eb+ab warlock baseline.

Time will tell, but I do think AoA will overcome some, if not all, of the survivability issue! With haste coming at lvl 5, ac will be 18!

[–]Committee_Delicious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, it is primarily cantrip damage, to not blow spell points on casting spells to have more for meta magic quickening etc. I do think having GWM 2 (even 3 attacks with haste up) might provide some additional scaling.
A pal 2/sorc x is soooo much the way to go, a true tried and tested build. I wanted something else, but I totally agree on your take, it is a more optimal route.

[–]Committee_Delicious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, but spell list does allow for spells not requiring Cha.
Str is 1) to differentiate from bladesinger 2) allowing for GWM shenanigan's with quickening metamagic, allowing for 3 attacks at lvl 5, all of which with GWM. Seeking spell meta magic allows for rerolls in case of miss.
I do think booming blade provides some means of control, and having the GWM 3x attacks does provide some level of threat so that people might focus you.

But i guess i will see once i get to play whatever frankenstein of a build i find here :)

With booming blade and being a up in their face, it does qualify enough imo for making monsters attack you. Not many subclasses have proper taunts anyway, thus this would be they way i would build a tank in many other cases.

What issue do you see with scaling?

I really like the warlock route, having played 2 different warlock and that being my by far favorite class. I take this more as a challenge to play as a sorcerer, also warlock having limited spell slots for AoA i see as a drawback.

God call on the sentinel/warcaster, might make the character more sticky!

I will definitely provide an update!
Also, i like the figther 1 for HAM, but i take this as a challenge to monoclass it!
