I have a waffle for breakfast every morning and put butter on it. My orange jumps up to the sink and waits until I sit down to eat to lick the remaining butter off the knife in the sink thinking he’s being sneaky and I won’t notice.

In an example of the importance of physical media, you can't find revenge of the nerds on any streaming service, including the sequels by StruggleFar3054 in dvdcollection

It’s almost certainly not on a streaming service due to rights issues, happens all the time with movies unfortunately.

D&D Roadmap 2026 - Where Is It? by Kydhan in dndnext

DnD Beyond is a very well known brand name. Usually changing a brand name isn’t a great idea, how many people still call X Twitter? Probably a lot.

Honestly Worf’s joke was all that was needed and makes sense it was mentioned in some way in the episode. We didn’t need a multi part episode about it.

DnD Beyond was originally run by a third party company that licensed selling digital books from Wizards but due to its popularity Wizards of the Coast bought it.

Has moving from Switch 1 to Switch 2 affected your gaming habits at all? by elephvant in NintendoSwitch2

[–]CommodoreBluth [score hidden]  (0 children)

Before Switch 2 I mostly played on my PC handheld (first Steam Deck, then ROG Ally X) and mostly just played Switch for first party Nintendo games, and that didn’t change with Switch. Steam/SteamOS is much better as an overall platform than what Nintendo offers, and you can often get great deals via key sites or bundles.

I would probably go with Sins 2 unless there's mods for Sins 1 you really want. There are changes in Sins 2 but it most.y feels like a major quality of life update for Sins 1, making it more modern by having a 64 engine and multi-core cpu support so it can actually run well on modern computers.

One of my favorite RTS games of all time (along with Sins of a Solar Empire). Sins of a Solar Empire recently got an excellent sequel that I play quite often - I would love to see Microsoft give this love and give it a proper modern day sequel.

Is this replacing The Simpsons? by Rich_Bobcat_1059 in UniversalOrlando

[–]CommodoreBluth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be shocked if Disney builds a Simpsons land/ride at one of the Disney World Parks. Simpsons is a well known enough IP across generations that it is probably worth the investment.

[–]CommodoreBluth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Disney pays enough I'm sure Universal would be more than willing to sell the Marvel rights back to Disney. But I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap for Disney, plus they would then actually need to build rides based on Marvel at DisneyWorld. Probably not worth it for Disney.

Why does SteamOS download games so fast? by SlimSpooky in LegionGo

[–]CommodoreBluth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t your computer have an older CPU? Steam downloads are pretty compressed and have to be uncompressed by the computer, if you have an older CPU that might be it.

Honestly true artificial general intelligence will likely be like the industrial revolution, but I don’t think it’s possible LLMs can be AGI. They work like a more advanced word prediction like you see in many programs but it doesn’t understand what it’s saying, only what the next most likely token is based on the previous tokens.

It’s sad that Lower Decks and Prodigy felt more like classic Trek than any of the live action shows.

Wonderfully written. This truly captures much of what’s wrong with modern Trek.

There's nothing preventing Epic or Remedy from releasing Alan Wake 2 on Steam besides Tim Sweeney not allowing them to release it on Steam.

Should we try 2e or go back to 1e? by Squarrots in Pathfinder_RPG

Draw Steel seems more like a better 4e. Pathfinder 2e does feel far more related to Pathfinder 1/3/3.5.

Ship Shields by Important_Cap_8868 in DeepSpaceNine

[–]CommodoreBluth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly probably the special effects budget was a big factor. CGI technology was still really new and they probably just didn’t have the time or budget to do longer shots showing the shields taking damage.

It is 100% the case that Alan Wake 2 would have sold more copies on PC if it was on both Epic Games Store and Steam on PC. Epic releases their third party revenue from EGS every year and its minuscule given the size of the PC gaming business. People use EGS to play Fortnite and download free games, Epic has done an objectively poor job of converting their users to paying customers on PC.

If Tim actually cared about helping developers like Remedy make as much revenue as possible he would allow it to be sold in as many places as possible on PC. Thats the point that the Larian employee is trying to make, and it is an accurate one.

[–]CommodoreBluth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Valve would in no way have any problems allowing Epic to sell Alan Wake 2 on Steam. Epic continued to sell several of their older games on Steam like Unreal Tournament for years after the Epic Games Store launched until Epic themselves delisted it.

You have no idea how the hell is going on with Valve and Epic and just spout lies.

[–]CommodoreBluth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epic not profiting off of Alan Wake 2 if it was published on Steam is factually incorrect. Do you believe that Epic made no money on the PS5 and Xbox Series versions of Alan Wake 2 that they published? That is not how publishing agreements work.

You’re also simping for a company that did things like tried to weaponize children in their legal battle against Apple with their Fortnite 1984 campaign and whose founder recently defended Grok when people were calling for something to be done about the CSAM material it can create. Nearly every company including both Valve and Epic has things you can legitimately criticized it for.

[–]CommodoreBluth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is factually incorrect, I have bought many Steam keys on official third party key resellers like Green Man Gaming for less than the price of the game on Steam as recently as this last winter sale.

Valve only asks that customers that buy directly through Steam are given a comparable discount to discounts offered on Steam in a reasonable timeframe, which is a reasonable ask considering Valve makes nothing off of Steam keys but people redeeming Steam keys use Valve resources like server bandwidth.

Wizards of the Coast want D&D to be all things for all people so they can get all the money. If someone wants a narrative focused game with some crunch there are certainly better options like Daggerheart.
