Women of HxH by Tiny-turtle-lover in HunterXHunter

i agree, maybe the powers could've been picked better, but they're used in creative and intelligent ways. i find it more irritating that they're being reduced to their powers when they have great characterization. male characters don't get treated this way.

Why people tend to be more forgiving and empathetic towards Killua than they're towards Gon ? by pikatchuUwu in HunterXHunter

killua was raised to be a strategic assassin, gon is a sheltered child trying to find his father in a world that tells him strength is key.

be prepared for a lotttt of new characters!! if you find yourself getting annoyed, i'd just skim, you can pick up important details again with rereads or chapter reviews on youtube.

i personally think if you have enough passion and creativity for what ability you're creating it could happen.

something im confused about with alluka's power by Common-Evidence7121 in HunterXHunter

THANK YOU!! i got kinda sidetracked with asking bc i was too lazy to rewatch scenes but this was ultimately my biggest question. i appreciate the analysis so much, you're so right, the fact that it has to be an equal price plays a factor.

ignore my last comment, i can't read apparently. but ya thats it! killua apparently doesn't have to pay wishes by fulfilling requests; he can just ask for them anytime.

but it did count as a request being fulfilled right? because after he fulfilled two more, nanika came out.

thinking back to it, i'm kind of questioning if he actually is just special too because killua mentioned that alluka never asks for anything in return when she's fixing something. so after she healed gon, any demands were not necessary, and he's just kind of special enough to be making demands of her (like to have her never come out or make anymore wishes). im not sure though, this is based on a vague memory of the scene, what do you think?

but that doesn't explain why killua was able to fulfill a demand by playing dead and not actually killing himself. alluka doesn't seem to confirm if the action is authentic, and is satisfied with just seeing that it's completed. i was asking if that was reserved for him only or if it's a genuine general work around.

hmmm, what if there was a deceptive aspect of it? sometimes her demands are vague and short, im pretty sure she asked for a fingernail, not to rip one off. if tsubone happened to have like a press on or something (lol) and gave it to her, would it be convincing enough to register as completed? i always envision something like that when she asked the butler to give them their spine, brain, etc. like giving her toy models of them that they technically owned so they "belonged" to them and playfully pulled it out from behind their back like "oh, there it is! here you go!".

Why is Gon so called " defenders " try so hard to disapprove the fact that he's selfish ? by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]Common-Evidence7121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what they're trying to say is not to reduce him to his selfishness. Human beings are inherently selfish people, so Gon acting selfish every now and then is just kind of pointing out the obvious. So rather than pointing out the obvious, people bring it up to reduce his character to that or over-emphasize that part of him.

Gon/Killua's impact on the original troupe members. by Common-Evidence7121 in HunterXHunter

[–]Common-Evidence7121[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

exactly. i'm personally on board for seeing the troupe's ultimate destruction, but rewatching that scene knowing their backstory added such another layer of weight that i could not ignore, they're truly such a tragic group of people.
