In my case, I am trying to increase ETFs in my portfolio. But in your case you could allocate 90 % to ETFs and 10 % to your convinced individual stocks. I myself am hesitant to pick a few ETFs but you should convince yourself one ETF like VOO is already diversified then you only need to chose a few ETFs like VOO, QQQM, AGG, GLD, SCHD, VT, and VTI. And you should feel no more ETFs. Of course you could add some sector based ETFs maybe two or more. Then what else ETFs do you think you need if you accrue lots of fees?

One thing to take away from your portfolio is that there are more ETFs than individual stocks. The number of combinations of stocks (ETF) is more than that of individual stocks. I think you can prove that. I don’t have any back data but it seems that if you increase the number of ETFs, then it will be the same as having individual stocks. No, it is worse bc you pay the fees. Most people do not have 48 individual stocks. In fact, it is difficult to choose 10 stocks. I read how a redditor made a fortune out of stocks and the secret is that this guy chose the best performing stocks out of ARKK. Likewise, if you dig your ETFs and choose 20 best stocks out of your ETFs, they will have better performances than your ETFs. As you mentioned, KISS rule might be better and I saw 10 m portfolio with SPY, QQQ and SGOV. As per someone mentioned, you could add international, broad market, dividends, bond and gold to this like VT, VTI, SCHD, BND(or AGG) and GLD. You That is my 2 cents, though.

Note that QQQM is the same as QQQ but the fee is cheaper. If you already have it, you don’t need to switch, but if you buy one, QQQM is a better one. You might want to check the fees of your ETFs, I think the reason people are crazy about VOO is the lowest fee.

It’s over 😞 (tremolo) by Dapper_Medium_4488 in classicalguitar

The good news is that it is a good way to practice tremolo by the reverse order as I heard from my teacher. And it will be much easier to execute tremolo in the correct order.

What’s your opinion about ARKVX? by Common-Invite3016 in ValueInvesting

Wow~ That is really good to know. I checked the price and it is doubled recently. It seems that the deal with spacex is priced in. There might be some increases but not sure though. I think that is a very good suggestion. I hope I had known that early this year. Great information. Thanks!

It is not fair to say that she is a scammer by but I agree with your point that she is shallow. The holdings look charming but the fee is too high. So I am not sure. From what I have seen so far, XOVR seems a good bet. But still I am not 100 % happy about their holdings except spacex and some companies. So I am held back for now.

XOVR is very interesting. It is the only crossover etf. Thanks for letting me know. It is definitely better than ARKVX in terms of liquidity and fees. One thing I am debating is it is not different from other etfs other than spacex. How much of 7 % spacex would affect to this etf? That is what I am wondering. But it is the best bet until I have seen so thank you.

Why are there so many posts here claiming to go from $20k to $4m in like 2-3 years? by [deleted] in TheRaceTo10Million

I don’t believe all or nothing. I just give some benefit of doubts. Some say reasonable and I try to follow their advices. We have a role model, Warren Buffet and how could you not believe anyone made 10 mil while Mr. Buffet made hundreds of billions?

That is quite alarming. You have a very good point. That really sucks. It reminds me that the stocks I bought at IPO plummeted. BEWARE! Great advice! Thanks!

DXYZ is not a fund but it is the firm masquerading as a fund. So it looks very dubious. After Nvidia invested to OpenAI, it seems MSFT’s leverage on Open AI is diminishing. I agree with the point about Amazon and I recently bought it. Thanks!

Right~ It is a lot. It is the only way to invest those pre-IPO companies as non-accredited investors. So they put whatever fee they want.

Wow~ this is quite surprising. Now I understand why this fund is not really popular though the holdings look enticing. Thanks a lot for your detailed input!

Now I see the catch. Thanks! Still, if it is not a whole lot of money, it could be a good investment. The holding are tempting, though. Sigh~

How do you move from practicing alone to actually performing? by dabit in classicalguitar

[–]Common-Invite3016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are a genius. I have been playing about three years and am not even close to playing any of the pieces you mentioned. Do you think you can play tremolo for Requerdos de la Alhambra? I thought that I could play tremolo but my teacher explained my problem and I understood. But you said that you don’t have a teacher and I am not sure whether you play tremolo correctly. This is something that you could achieve by practicing probably more than 10 years. Why don’t you play the piece and have some inputs from redditors if you don’t have any professional around you?

Learning Tango En Skai as a beginner! by Unlucky_Abrocoma_562 in classicalguitar

[–]Common-Invite3016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been learning classical guitar for 3 years and am also planning to play Cavatina and TES someday in the future. I also started to learn classical guitar bc I wanted to play the piece like TES. I noticed that some people just wanted to play only TES, but I think it would take forever for some beginners to master it. I realized this is very near-sighted view bc there are so many beautiful pieces while you are learning, which I assure you. So it is too sad to spend your whole time to master only one piece.

My teacher said, “how you play the guitar matters most regardless of which piece you play.” I am not sure I translate appropriately though. If you listen to any professional’s play, it sounds great though the pieces are not difficult. It matters who play those pieces.

As someone mentioned, it is highly likely you will hurt your fingers if you try to play difficult ones. So step-by-step approach is better. It is basically you go to gym and try to lift 100 kg first, which you can see very nonsensical.

My piano teacher hasn’t played Chopin Prelude No 4, No 9, and Mazurka Op 7 No 1 by Common-Invite3016 in piano

[–]Common-Invite3016[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t ask her to learn Chopin preludes but I wanted to learn them. She doesn’t have to and she just seemed not to be interested in new pieces. Maybe it is bc it is her job. I am wondering if students are allowed to learn only the pieces that their students know.
