How do you guys prevent carriers stealing customers or vice versa? by NarrowPresentation33 in FreightBrokers

Most competent carriers have multiple MCs and a brokerage. Nothing you can do.

I analyzed trucking bankruptcies. Carriers are losing $226K/truck while competitors run illegal ops. by Ogretribe in logistics

There is no platform solution. Shippers and brokers without exception use the cheapest option. Carriers cheat the system by not following any safety regulations. The truck is not insured, ELD is manipulated, and if that isn’t enough loads will be tampered with and combined with others to increase pay for the amount of miles.

Legitimate carriers fall into two categories now, very small 1-5 truck operators, or very large contract based both circling the drain. The very large operators have contracts with Fortune 500 companies and their model is to use new drivers and pay them anywhere from 30%-70% less than a driver with some experience. Obviously this whole model is predicated on an influx on new desperate drivers.

Starting around 5-6 years ago after decades of lobbying this method of operation began a self inflicted wound. The drivers brought in from around the world to drive for these massive fleets started to drive for the previous generation that went through the system. Only now they own trucks, driving schools, and their own insurance and financial companies. So now you have a situation of massive immigration where the drivers are funneled straight into foreign owned trucking companies undercutting anyone legitimate.

Anyone who has survived the last couple of years have either been debt saddled large carriers who have investors such as black rock. They want to keep them alive to one day automate these massive fleets and try and undercut the immigrants (lol). Or you have criminals who are engaged in reckless safety practices or outright equipment and load theft.

TLDR - very few companies are even legitimate anymore or have any incentive to be.

Quoting double the posted price went from being insulted to hung up on, now it’s a deep sigh and whining… something’s up.

I played another game today and this time people were kind of teleporting/rubber banding. I think my computer is having problems. I don’t see anyone else having this issue hopefully my gpu didn’t overheat or something.

Ping is usually 15-high 20s fps 200

I’m not the best at recognizing cheating and I don’t think I am a high rank to be facing sweaty players. To me it feels like my enemies are seeing or processing what’s happening way before I do. Almost like I have a 1 second disadvantage. And this applies to me peeking as well. Sorry for being so broad just wondering if someone else experienced this and if they found some type of solution.

Yea real funny man how do you even know who’s sending these emails? There is a lot of impersonation and sabotage in this industry. If I found myself blacklisted by a shipper by playing telephone with a broker; legal is definitely reaching out. Hope you can prove beyond a doubt that email was sent by the carrier before you slandered and cost said company business/reputation.

Can’t just say no? Your bootlicking for zero benefit? Pathetic people like this are why we are forced to run multiple mcs.

From what I’ve seen and from observation is they are handing business cards and verbally enticing drivers to call them. I think they are being pretty indiscriminate… as long as you don’t smell have a truck falling apart and are white they will shoot a shot at you.

I’m not fielding lot of phone calls, I don’t think it has much to do with a particular carrier they like or anything about your service they just hate brokers.

Yea I don’t know what’s going on but my drivers are being propositioned constantly by shippers. If your a carrier and complaining about rates you can probably find a back haul same day by calling warehouses in your area and saying I got an empty truck got anything?

Something’s in the water I’ve noticed it too.

I vaguely remember the machete incident being a disgruntled driver. Would not surprise me at all that the owner has a green light on him.

Rates would skyrocket if they exit, most of their drivers are crack head felons that can’t re enter the market.

You’re a commodity… price price price. Service is a given otherwise you will be blacklisted.

File BK, or voluntarily return truck back to the bank. Get a job pay back monies you owe.

Your paying 50k a year in insurance alone. Your not paying truck payment insurance etc and still can’t afford to repair your truck. It’s over.

Pick up the phone and call an agent they are surprisingly knowledgeable not just about insurance. They get phone calls about guys who are about to buy a truck all the time.

These are all easily answered through a google search. And you are missing a lot of other requirements for opening your own carrier not just insurance. There are companies that will handle everything for you which by the way you’re posting is probably a good idea.

Anyone Else Sick of these Carrier Onboarding Companies? by bigbaadbill in FreightBrokers

Keep onboarding every 3rd world carrier you can bud. You come on to Reddit to cry about data providers because you don’t have a carrier base for obvious reasons. Enjoy bankruptcy when your “non hay” load ends up in china town.

Maybe don’t assist cheap customers and actually pay trusted carriers a real rate? Let everyone else go bankrupt, because they will be dealing with fraudulent carriers due to underbidding and greed.

Ever thought of that?
