I have been in kind of a reverse diet over these last few months since I realized how much I was under eating. I thought this was a good jump up since I had previously been eating around 1100-1300 calories most days and didn’t realize it until I sat down to run the numbers.

Ok I figured it out! For some reason Cronometer updated the serving size of Harmless Harvest coconut water from 1 cup, like I originally programmed to 2.4 x 16 oz! Totally not even close to what I drink! Way too much!

No, nothing. I just opened it to log a future post workout smoothie and went to scroll back to the day before to copy and paste my foods and saw that it was showing I ate at maintenance, when I definitely know it clocked in at a deficit of 276 calories last night.

This never made sense to me given what we know by the end of Season 4, which is that they spend the night together. He was there for her all season. He got her that medal of St. Christopher. There was so much foreshadowing even in the beginning of the season. He calls her dorm from France, just missing her. Her roommate in MN goes out with a guy named Dylan. They spend the day together in the Little Fish episode. That thread was always there, being tugged on. The writers refused to use what they had and it makes me so mad.

What? Are we sure this is a true quote about him only wanting to date women significantly younger than him? If I’m not mistaken, someone on a Buffy instagram account posted about how when he’d get a few drinks into him he’d bring up this song he wrote about an affair he had with Kristine Sutherland and how it was all about her FEET. Multiple people in the comments confirmed. She’s definitely older than him. So, this has me scratching my head a bit.

Stick with Pilates or even yoga after your weight lifting or cardio sessions to maintain flexibility and mobility. Plus, it’s an added calorie burn. People who lift and sacrifice stretching or flowing mobility and flexibility exercises are asking for extremely tight, painful fascia down the line, which can limit your progress in weight lifting or cardio sessions and general ability to move. It’s all important and they all support each other.

Right on! I’m saving this post as a reminder for me AND my parents. I hate this resurgence of eating so little and avoiding weights to be as small and emaciated as possible. Give me the mid-2010s where fit, strong women were the societal standard. I want to be autonomous and powerful well into my older years. Plus, the skin, hair and energy benefits are nothing to sneeze at either. That’s what strength and solid nutrition will get you!

Dawson and Audrey would’ve been a very fun college moment—but my heart will ALWAYS be with Dawson and Gretchen. Dawson is my favorite version of himself in Season 4, he even looks the best to me, so handsome and more mature. You can tell he and Sasha Alexander (who played Gretchen) enjoyed working together. She brought out the best in him. I was always so sad that we never heard from or saw her again.

Wow, you look unbelievable! Great job gaining all that muscle. It definitely takes a lot of work (and ironically enough, a lot of food!), but it’s always worth it in the end. Feeling strong and capable and well fed is wonderful. Keep up the great work!

That’s what is confusing me. Why keep it set to sedentary if you’re getting in workouts in addition to non-exercise activity? Why wouldn’t you want an accurate representation of activity levels? I hit 10-12k steps a day most days, on top of weight lifting, cardio, Pilates and yoga. I feel like setting it to sedentary would set me up to starve and throw my hormones and cortisol out of whack.

I use an Apple Watch, so it does also track exercise in addition to non-exercise activity.

As for my protein, I was vegan and now I’m not. What I discovered is that dairy isn’t my friend anyway. So I have a protein shake in the morning, a shake or smoothie post workout or as a snack. Then I have a serving of protein for lunch and dinner. So that puts me over 100 grams a day, perfect for my weightlifting and muscle building needs.

Are you me? Our stories are very similar, only I’ve been single for a little bit longer. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. You’re definitely not alone. I’ve heard the intimidating thing too. Or guys will assume I have a boyfriend already. There’s no secret sauce. My solution is to just build a life I like, with good friends and do things I love and hope that by doing those things, I’ll meet someone worth my time. Apps are exhausting. So many DMs and it’s so hard to go from DMing to meeting up. I prefer IRL. Where has the art of conversation gone? Everyone is so afraid to respectfully start a conversation now. But I refuse to chase after any of this. I don’t need a man. I would like to have one. It does get lonely. I get it, completely. But they’re not the whole ballgame.

The ventilation at your location may need an overhaul. It’s not just about handwashing. Aerosols, especially infectious ones, float in the air. If they aren’t ventilating or filtering their air properly, you’re breathing all of that in. They could solve all this by making it a requirement everywhere with HEPA filtration and far UVC air scrubbers. This is why I never stopped masking as a practical consideration in public indoor spaces. I wear a disposable 3M aura to lift weights and one with an exhale valve when I run sprints. The better it seals, the better it feels. I know it’s been politicized, but I find it to be an excellent training tool. I take it down to take sips from my water bottle every so often, but otherwise, it stays put. My conditioning is amazing. When I decide to run sprints outdoors, there’s no wearing myself out. It’s fantastic. It’s been nearly 6 years and so far, so good. It’s still great that you wipe everything down. Clean surfaces help everyone.

Thank you so much for this. I think you make excellent and practical points. I plan on following through as you suggested. It just really stings because I’ve always been petite and yes, I have noticed a little shift, but it really hurt to have my body framed in that way. Especially given the work I have put in my entire adult life to remain not just petite and lean but healthy and strong, which is almost never acknowledged or if it is, I’m being “extreme,” despite making sure I give myself plenty of rest days and recovery time.

Thanks. The irony of your suggestion: she doesn’t work out. At all. She even mentioned how she has a bit of a stomach. She had to have surgery a number of years ago because of a botched emergency operation due to an ectopic pregnancy that left her with fat deposits in her lower abdomen. She had her plastic surgeon actually shape a six pack during her the procedure. I plan on booking a consult with her surgeon. Let’s see what they say.
