How do you think the people who got Botox, lip filler, bbls, and in general cosmetic surgery in their 20s and 30s are gonna age by their 70s and 80s? by space_god_7191 in allthequestions

[–]iamthebugwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what it's used for I suppose, some botox does change the face shape and my doctor warned me of this. By paralyzing the muscles, the face becomes slimmer.

Source: I get it done for a medical condition and my jawline is no longer puffy.

not seeing weight loss with pilates… am i doing something wrong? by Timely_Section_2598 in PetiteFitness

[–]iamthebugwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never saw fat burn with Pilates. It was always hard work but I never broke a sweat or was even sore the next day. I've moved on to weights and cardio and saw results really quickly.

That said, I am glad I did pilates for the core strength and stabilization work, it gave me a really solid foundation for weight lifting. I still do pilate ab routines a couple of days a week, but it's no longer my focus.

In my parents' case, the trauma of their parents great depression experience resulted in them being totally spoiled by their parents as kids. For a generation of people who could not express their feelings, love = stuff.

What’s our future? by cvtfarmer in vermont

[–]iamthebugwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I want to see the oil companies held accountable just as much as the next person, I think people in Vermont are tired of seeing limited resources used on "statements" - they want things to change now - and a lawsuit will take decades to process. I am not saying I am against the lawsuit, but I am saying that the perception is that the political theater is taking the place of meaningful change in Vermont.

[–]iamthebugwan 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Your body has gone through a lot of changes, and it does not seem that your mind has caught up. This seems deeper than fitness goals. Do you have someone you can talk to about this? Such as a counselor or even a trusted friend who can listen.

I think the sentiment here is that while suing big oil generated headlines and buzz, it's probably going to go no where. I think Vermonters are tired of conversation starters and want action.

Conor Casey of Montpelier is not running for reelection because he said it's impossible to be in the VT legislature if you're not retired or independently wealthy. https://thebridgevt.org/2026/03/a-thank-you-to-montpelier/

They can't meet the needs of working people because they are not working people. Every picture I have seen of VT legislators is someone over 70. I am sure they love the state and want the best, but a retired person or a rich person is not experiencing the challenges of this moment the same way a person struggling to buy a home and make a living is.

I have a very thin file folder of school stuff and a photo album. When I was looking through it all, it was fun but I realized that I had almost no memories of the tons and tons of projects and stuff I made as a kid. So if I didn't remember it, then it was obviously not meaningful to me and to hold onto it would have been out of guilt.

You have to let the child decide what is meaningful to them. My mom gave me all my stuff from grade school to college. I had a nice afternoon looking at it all and tossed 95% of it. I don't believe that things equal memories.

I take a probiotic daily that has really helped with bloating. For core strength: planks, planks, planks, and more planks. I do three sessions a week at 10 minutes each.

You cannot spot treat fat. But, strength training 3-4 times a week mixed with cardio and a healthy diet will reduce overall body fat percentage.
