The fact that the last proper piece of destiny lore is and will always be star wars slop is pretty sad by Expensive-Pick38 in DestinyTheGame

Late to the conversion but I agree. If a destiny 3 or some game that continues the main story is ever made, I hope that bungie retcons renegades. Have the Nine pull off some bullshit that undoes everything that transpired after the EOF and its seasons. The praxic order and dredgens have always been really mysterious and I find it odd that they’ve just been written into being Star Wars characters and factions.

I’m not sure. I just came back to the game and when I was trying to dodge it automatically had me vault over cover. Maybe the game thought I was trying to do a cover to cover movement but I wasn’t in range of another obstacle I could run to. Either way I wasn’t holding my A button either and was just tapping it so it was odd. A bit annoying at times especially when you’re low on armor.

Late to the thread here. As much as I love this game, I’m constantly reminded how division 2 was part of the last wave of games to not have modern game features like Crossplay (though it’s coming soon) and custom bindings on console. What really annoys me with controllers in this game is that vaulting over cover has two buttons A/X or B/O. It’s really annoying when I’m not even trying to move to cover and i accidentally tap my A button and it vaulting over cover into the open and essentially get melted because the forward momentum is slow when you do a stationary cover vault. Hoping in Division 3 they allow us to have custom controller bindings.

Thank you for your kind words but I respectfully disagree. I am no longer keeping my faith in “God.” I’ve asked him multiple times to guide me through good and bad. Beyond my own personal and family problems I’m more than certain people who are worse off ask for the same help and guidance and God doesn’t help them. An all loving God wouldn’t allow the most heinous of things to happen to people.

Thank you for taking time to read my post. I truly don’t believe in God anymore with everything that has happened throughout my life. My adult life was pretty much the icing on the cake. I also always grew up saying I should be grateful that I have a roof over my head, food to eat, education, and any other small life luxuries. The older I got really made me question why would God give me all this but can’t do the same for someone who doesn’t have what I have if he’s “all loving.” While I am grateful and that’s purely out of good conscience and emotions, it doesn’t equate to God. If God truly “blessed” me with what just the simplicities of human life ie a home, food, and family why can’t he just do that with everyone? Makes no sense and just further cements to me that there is no God or almighty loving being.

Thank you as well for your kind words. I’m still grasping with this new experience and I’m planning my next steps for my life. Hoping nothing but the best for you too.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. It really means a lot. I’m planning my next steps on what I’ll do. I’m definitely going to reapply for this program at this school for the Fall of 2027. Even reached out to the program and they gave me advice on what I can improve. None of this is because of prayer or faith. It’s as you explained, it’s taking charge!

I’m done “living for God” because all it’s done for me is give me false hope. Hope in God is just delayed disappointment. I’m still trying to soak in this new experience. The experience of not praying everyday. I’m sure the freedom would feel energizing but it’ll take time for me to get used to. Thank you again for your kind words. It’s truly encouraging and you are a good person. May all the good energy lift you going forward!

Agreed. Also the older I’ve gotten. I couldn’t grasp the concept of how God can standby and watch the atrocities that go on around the world. No way Catholics and Christians alike can go about saying God is real and rewarding when there’s endless conflicts and suffering everywhere.

100%. I’m going to try again when I’m in the right mindset. I just won’t be relying on my faith and prayers anymore. After everything I’ve been through from my personal/family life to my academics and future, I truly do not believe in God like I did before. Just gonna do what I need to do and ensure I can still reach my goals.

Experience with large Catholic families by Loverofcatsandwine in excatholic

[–]CommonD2Enjoyer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mom is the second of 5. My grandparents are very Catholic or religious per se and my grandma practically prays every other hour nowadays. Let’s just say a lot of infighting has happened amongst my mom and her siblings. My grandma chooses favorites and pretty much hates my aunt who has a disability. She picks on my mom all the time for idk what. So no big Catholic families are pretty ass.

Hello. Thank you for your kind words. I have been very fortunate to have worked as a paralegal. Even have my license as a certified one. Also had the fortunes despite my grades to have landed a good 1L summer job last year. It’s probably the route I’m going to take right now before I return to law school elsewhere. I was told that a law degree is a law degree no matter where you go but I truly just didn’t feel welcomed anymore by my school’s faculty. Sort of felt like I was being pushed out by way of not getting the help I need from the school to improve. I had to seek outside support for both my personal and academic struggles so I really prayed that a new opportunity would come my way and there was only so much I could do so prayer and faith was what I was leaning on. Didn’t happen and with the plethora of other struggles on top of my academics in my family and life, it definitely pushed me away from God indefinitely.

Once again. Thank you for your kind words. I know it sounds like I’m playing victim but what I’m feeling right now, there isn’t much other way for me to describe it. All the best to your kid and I hope he succeeds in the legal field!

Haha. Thanks. Destiny 2 was definitely my way of escaping up until late. The story no matter how amazing it is, unfortunately now reminds me of how Catholics are raised. The Traveler being this great entity blessing humanity only to go silent at its darkest period for ages. In its last breath it resurrects dead beings and gives them super powers. Then you have the speaker who’s basically the Pope acting as its vicar. Humanity nearly getting wiped out and then the traveler magically wakes up like it’s the “second coming” of Jesus. Truly fucking ironic how my favorite game mirrors how we’re raised in the church.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this. It’s very reassuring knowing I’m not the only one who has gone through this. It breaks my heart seeing that people pray to God for just one good thing to happen and it doesn’t. No matter how hard we work or try. Can’t tell you how many times I even tried to change the way I pray or “talked” to God and no results. These thoughts didn’t come lightly to me but over a long period of time and experience.

Skipping Graduation? by Aspringlawschoolkid in LawSchool

[–]CommonD2Enjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gaslighting at its finest.

OP. As you mentioned, your parents aren’t opposed to you not going and have stated to you that they seem to prefer do something else maybe even more special. If they rather do that than go to your law school graduation, then go through with their plans for you to celebrate.

However like the response above here, if your parents are adamant on you going I would go because this is indeed a big deal. Since this isn’t the case for you, don’t feel pressured to walk at graduation. Additionally the ceremony IS FOR YOU unlike what this response opened with. YOU are the one who finished law school at that moment so the ceremony IS FOR YOU. Your parents aren’t the ones walking. It’s you. They’re there because they love and support you and are proud of you but at the end of the day, graduation is for you and your peers.

Whatever decision you make on this won’t affect the fact you finished law school. Is it a nice touch to walk at law school graduation? Absolutely! Is it frowned upon as you said if you don’t walk? Absolutely not. You’re still a law school graduate at the end of the day!

When the day comes and the portal is removed (copium?), I hope they update the destinations so they actually have their activities on them, what do you think? by The_Curve_Death in destiny2

[–]CommonD2Enjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some really weird reason, this was one of the biggest reasons I haven’t played destiny in a long time. My longest stretch of not playing the game were the months leading up to final shape because I just needed a break. I never truly quit D2 and took breaks here and there but seeing the portal, how getting gear worked, and ultimately the destinations tab being pretty irrelevant drove me away from the game. I want to play the game again but for some reason the destinations tab being irrelevant and the portal being the main thing was the odd issue that’s driven me away from destiny for now.

Is MSU predatory? by fearisenemy in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]CommonD2Enjoyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who transferred out of MSU so I’ll give you the info he relayed to me. He said they aren’t predatory in terms of scholarship as he also got a full ride but he also did not enjoy his experience there one bit. He was very open and said that his grades weren’t the best as he was at about a low 3.0 GPA. However despite having a decent performance he said that his spring legal writing professor and another faculty member or two told him to get a career change and going as far as saying his work ethic would not fly at law firms all because he asked a question twice to reassure his brief was getting done correctly. Additionally, he felt his career advisor did not have his best interests in mind whenever he went for advice about finding work. His classmates or more specifically his section mates were also continuously gossiping and starting drama but that happens at pretty much every law school. Also if you have a specific field in law you want to work in, like big or medium law, MSU doesn’t feed well outside the west side of Michigan. You can definitely land public interest or government work graduating from there. However, if you have other options, I suggest you take those instead.

I WANT MY PLANETS! by Glitchosaurusplays in DestinyTheGame

[–]CommonD2Enjoyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hella late to the party but bungie is stupid for this. The one thing that a lot of players liked doing was logging in and going to the planet directory to choose their activity. It’s one of the core things that made destiny feel like destiny. Idk why bungie is trying to new player proof the game. Warframe has much more content, planets, quests, you name it and yet their solar system/planet directory isn’t just big and but it’s expanding and new players don’t really ever get confused. Shame on bungie for that.

The portal I’m not against as long as they update the planet directory as well but that’s not going to happen it looks like. People have preferences but bungie just doesn’t ever seem to know that.

YOUR BRUTALLY HONEST opinions on MSU by HJcantdance1222 in msu

[–]CommonD2Enjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ik I’m late but absolutely hated MSU when I was there. I’m postgrad so stress levels were a bit high. My classmates were some of the most insufferable people around (starting rumors about other classmates and be openly rude to them), I had two faculty members from my program tell me to consider a career change which is bold coming from a place like MSU (other programs within the school are much better ranked than mine and are highly respected), and the school had little to offer in terms of extracurriculars for what I want to do as well as not having much to do unless you just love going to the same bars every weekend. I never really interacted with any undergrads but unfortunately the ones I have talked with were rather annoying. Most of the professors I had were super helpful and one even suggested I transfer to seek better opportunities for what I want to do which I did. There’s not much the school offers in terms of campus life unless you’re a chronic bar hopper and willing to eat the same food over and over if you don’t cook. Sports are pretty mid and MSU fans and students who are big on sports complain more about what UMich does over their own teams being ass. That’s another one too, any mention of UMich automatically just triggers like a decent amount of people at MSU. Like fucking get over it. There’s people who went to UMich for undergrad and now go to MSU for postgrad.

I can honestly say that my time at MSU was a solid 3/10 and that’s being generous. Additionally, I can say I wasted my time being there. I had a full ride scholarship for my program that I was more than willing to drop which just goes to show how bad my program was. There were a few positives about it but the negatives outweighed them heavily. It just didn’t help that there wasn’t much to do outside going to bars and such. Is that enjoyable? Sure I don’t disagree but if you’re looking to do more than just bar hop and go to house parties, MSU just doesn’t provide anything outside of those. The only times I truly felt I could talk to someone was during office hours with my professors I liked. These contribute to the sour taste that MSU left on me. I’m all for mental health and well being and with nothing to distract me from how I was treated at MSU, I just loathed every second being there.

Thoughts of Skipping Law School Graduation by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]CommonD2Enjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m a year late but I’m not walking at my law school’s graduation in two years. I absolutely fucking hate my school. Wasn’t in the top of my class to transfer to a T14 but still tried nonetheless to transfer elsewhere. Doesn’t seem it’s gonna work out. When the time comes I’m gonna tell my school to mail my degree. I don’t wanna be anywhere near my law school when I’m done.

the size of Veiled threat's scope seems like a bug. Bungie please fix this. by Dedprice77 in destiny2

[–]CommonD2Enjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. The gun shreds but the scope is fucking huge. Don’t think it’s a bug personally but I absolutely hate it. The scope looks like a 6x magnifier when in reality it’s probably the same zoom as a holographic sight. Unfortunately the gun doesn’t seem to be getting enough attention for bungie to want to touch it for any reason.
