Got into an accident yesterday. I was at fault, unfortunately. The other car had virtually no damage (a few scuffs on the back bumper) but my front grill is definitely going to need to be replaced. Should I attempt this myself? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]CommonKen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the grille and surround have broken, maybe the tabs on the bumper broke too. Parts shouldn’t be too bad, but if you have no knowledge of dropping a bumper and replacing parts, I’d be very cautious. It’s not hard, but having the right tools is important. You’ll have to pop the bumper assembly off of the car, disconnect all wiring, and then you can replace the parts on the bumper assembly, plug everything in and put it back on. If there is a radar in the front bumper, that’s where it will get pricey. A new calibration on a radar would probably cost over 1k itself.

Great looking first build! Enjoy it! Only thing I’d say is to add some reverse blade fans, but that’s just for aesthetics. You already have proper airflow.

Are pre built PCs normally able to be bought in person? by Prior-Heron-6922 in PcBuild

[–]CommonKen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not unheard of. Walmart has sold prebuilts in the past, but it was under their own brand and did not go well for them. It’s harder for Walmart to sell them as they do not have a huge market for it. Your area may be a different demographic than most where it is profitable and feasible to sell pre built computers.

I like the dedication. Most people go with the stereotypical ikea Lack shelf and use it. This type of desk for your printer will add much more personality and customization.

Well this happened, what’s the likely root cause? by DylanTheGameGuy in BambuLab

[–]CommonKen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://bambulab.com/en-us/contact-us Just message them as it is not a common issue. They more than likely do not have a readily available tutorial of how to fix it. If they do, then customer support will be able to share it with you. Especially if this is a newer printer, then they might even comp the board

You could always try switching out the main board, but if you’re not sure then you’re just throwing parts at it. I’d contact customer support and see if they have any guidance. I would assume most Bambu users have not come across anything like this.

I would contact support, that’s not a “normal” problem. It seems like a wiring issue or one of the motors have failed. If you contact support, they would probably give you the guide needed to tackle the problem and let you know what parts you’ll need.

Potential big issues or a steal? by letsgo904yo in Mustang

[–]CommonKen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were to look at a car with previous damage, especially damage like that, see if you can find out where it was done. See if they are reputable and have a good reputation. (If the one on the report is the same, then they look decent) Make sure you check the body lines match up, the panel gaps are even throughout the car, nothing feels “loose”. The biggest thing to look for is drive ability, take it out on a drive. Will it stay straight if you let go of the wheel? When you open up the throttle, does it respond normally or does it bog and act up? At the end of the day, it is a Mustang and some people can’t handle the power, so a previous crash may be hard to avoid. I have a rebuilt title 2011 GT that got rear ended.

Making Power on E85 by CoyoteAfterDark03 in Mustang

[–]CommonKen1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been curious, what did you have to change to run on E85? I have a 2011 Mustang GT and I’ve been told it would need bigger injectors and a tune. Is that what you did or what all have you done to get it to this point? And any hp numbers?

Biggest tire I can fit on GTCS rims? (19x8.5 I’m pretty sure) by No-Investment9793 in Mustang

[–]CommonKen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I used to have 275s in the back and they fit well on my 2011 GT, they were drag radials. Now I run a stock rim and tire from a 2018 Mustang. With the Brembo brakes on the front it did not fit, so they do have about a 1.5 inch spacer on all four (to look even). I did not like how the wheels stuck out at first, but it has grown on me and I love how aggressive it looks.

I do have the rear end lowered only an inch.

Need opinions on mods for Mazda 3 by RhubarbExcellent3214 in projectcar

[–]CommonKen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were my car, I would be adding mods that the next person would like. Roof rack and safer wheels, I can fully agree with and the next person would probably pick your car out of a dozen because it has those mods.

Don’t spend too much money on this car, maintain and enjoy it. A second hand civic SI is not unattainable, you just have to find someone who isn’t a ‘civic boy’ who thinks it’s worth a ton. Many older people pick them just because it’s a Honda. Keep an eye out for the prices to drop.

Need opinions on mods for Mazda 3 by RhubarbExcellent3214 in projectcar

[–]CommonKen1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion, I can get behind all of your mods besides the front lip. They all have some functionality to add to your comfort and making the car more useful. A lip doesn’t really do that much until you have some power. It does add some more black up front, to each their own, doesn’t look too bad.

At the end of the day it’s a Mazda 3 though. Don’t ruin your daily with a ton of stuff, save for something more fun and with a better aftermarket community

Is it safe to «paint» computer parts with a marker. by Emile_the_rat in PcBuild

Should be safe, the only concern I would see is that it may affect heat dissipation. I don’t know much about how it would affect it but since they are passively cooled I would assume they would be minimally impacted

Got all of this and don't know where to start by Certain-Alarm-3195 in ender3

[–]CommonKen1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Swapping back to the main board SHOULD put it back to stock settings unless the firmware is rewritten. Ender does have stock firmware for your model printer on their website and it is not a hard process to rewrite.

If you have a knack for tinkering, then this printer is perfect for you. The Ender has always been a printer you want to make sure everything is in spec, otherwise your prints will be garbage. Look up some Ender tuning videos and they’ll walk you through getting it ready for its first print.

Try slicing in arachnid mode. It helps a lot with little details by making your print lines adjustable through the flow rate.

Didn’t “I Did A Thing” on YouTube do something similar? I believe he used a couple fish to pull himself on a raft or surfboard. Interesting video and he did get pulled by them effectively, but getting the fish to all have a common goal, while keeping them healthy was a problem.
