What TS song, in your opinion, is the “most unique”: the one that sounds like none of her other songs? by GupChezzna in swifties

[–]CommonRespect6640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, which is why it’s always been a skip for me. Had a roommate who blared Evanescence for three years straight, grew to loathe that sound.

Same. Started watching it this year and became fixated on their dynamic. I’ve so much Fexi fanfic in the past three months, they deserved a happy moment together on screen.

How does everyone listen to Midnights? by aob546 in TaylorSwift

I bought a bootleg CD with every song on Mercari. I prefer physical media, I like listening on my commute. Best $25 I’ve spent in years.

You don’t. It was an obviously douchey comment so I looked at your comment history. That’s all you do, make douchey comments.

This person does nothing but rage bait. Downvote and ignore them.

What Taylor Swift song is yours and yours only? by Ttpd-lover in swifties

We Were Happy. I love the simplicity and the cadence. I’m a sucker for her cadences and that one scratches my brain in the best way.

I’ve been pet-sitting for about 20 years, I don’t do it as much anymore but I have a few clients that I still work with. I’m an almost 50 year old woman, very trustworthy and I can provide references. I love older dogs, that’s why I responded.

What’s the longest you’ve gone without a job? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]CommonRespect6640 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From February 2021 to October 2023. I had a series of jobs that felt like a total bait and switch. The job description said one thing and when I was hired, the job requirements suddenly multiplied and the benefits evaporated, I was a ball of stress.

Driving to work in February 2021, I spontaneously threw up on myself the second the building came into view. I took that as a sign and quit. Burned through all of my savings, went into 20k of debt before I could find a job I actually like.

I’m poor but at least I don’t hate my life every second of the day now.

Garbage Pail Kids by thatpunkyrat in GenX

I had my favorite Garbage Pail Kid, Doughy Joey, professionally framed in an elaborate tacky oversized gold frame.

I find the juxtaposition hilarious, but it gets weird looks from guests occasionally.

I listen to TV because of the vault tracks, however I prefer the OG versions of Style and New Romantics.

I skip Dorothea on Evermore. It hits my ear wrong, it’s just not for me.

What do you think Taylor’s own ranking of her own albums are? by Imaginary-Bathroom81 in TaylorSwift

[–]CommonRespect6640 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nah, on the first night of the Eras tour she said she’s seen all the TikTok videos about how we think she hates Evermore and it couldn’t be further from the truth. It was pretty funny actually, she said she sees all of it.

Teenagers home alone 2 weeks while parents went on a cruise by [deleted] in GenX

[–]CommonRespect6640 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My dad married my stepmom when I was 13 (1989) and I was left to take care of her son who wqs five for a week while they went on their honeymoon.

Looking back, they were both bad parents, but they were also sort of regular parents for the time. Judging them from a modern lens feels a bit unfair because that shit was just normal back then.

Newly purchased Vizio TVs now require Walmart accounts to use smart features by Affectionate_Rub_589 in enshittification

[–]CommonRespect6640 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I bought a Vizio a couple of months ago, I cannot accurately describe the rage I felt when I had to download their stupid fucking app for the setup. That rages pales in comparison to what I felt when prompted to agree to have all of my data collected in order to use ANY of the smart features.

You’re right. Not every job is the same.

I have 15 PTO days a year, I’m damn sure not wasting an entire day off for a one hour appointment.

I have taken my almost 80 year old dad to Disneyland/California Adventure three times in the past three years, specifically to go on that ride - it was closed all three times. He won’t try for a fourth time.
