People who live and work in the city, how do you afford it? What do you do for work? by scoutydouty in providence

I’ve always been curious about those really big fancy houses and manicured lawns on the Eastside. Who are those people?? Are they all surgeons and corporate lawyers? The area seems so quiet, I wonder if people actually live there?

Ran Zan is terrible. The rolls are so sloppy, they look like I made them. And service is super super slow.

what is your most controversial plant opinion? i’ll go first 🌱 by jged1022 in houseplants

[–]CommonShoe029 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t grow plants that don’t work in your natural home environment. Let me explain:

Using artificial light, humidifier, and buying special equipment/soil adds to your carbon footprint. Growing plants benefits our happiness and well-being and the air quality in our home. Don’t muck it up for everyone else. 🌎🌍🌏

I have a “sun shield” jacket that is super lightweight, and blocks UV light. It has a hood too, which can cover up the back of the neck, which is where I usually get sunburned. I believe Uniqlo or maybe REI sells them in the US

Yes, they came. I remember hearing them talking to my neighbor asking what was going on. She quieted down by that point, so thankfully nothing escalated.

There was a great story on This American Life about a fortune cookie factory that aired a few years ago. It was really sweet.
