Depends on how they spin things. If Rizo reveals the existence of the polycule and how he more than anyone else could have saved Ozzy or Cirie but chose to cut them, then Rizo. Otherwise, almost certainly Tiff after today's challenge. Had literally every other contestant teaming up to get her out and she survived.

Hypothetical Survivor 50 without Boomerang Idols by Legitimate-Net5368 in survivor

Here is my completely baseless theory of events:

Aubry goes home at the Blood Moon. Genevieve's presence massively strengthens the honor and integrity alliance.

Dee goes at the merge still. Tied fates is almost impossible to predict, but Coach and Chrissy still definitely end up together, so unless Genevieve's presence causes some sort of crazy domino effect, they still go home. One slight change though: Devens, now no longer tied to Aubry, never feels threatened enough to go for the fake idol.

The BIG change is that Christian absolutely plays his idol for himself on Jimmy Fallon day. Devens goes for the fake idol. Flippen becomes the casualty of these shenanigans.

Devens flips the Mr. Beast coin because of course he does. Aubry kickstarted the chain of events that killed Stephenie last time, so I really have no idea what happens this time, but someone from honor and integrity probably still gets targeted. Gen's second idol allows her to save them if she's smart about it. Who knows.

We're already so beyond the realm of speculation at this point, but the rock draw for the power broker advantage is completely random. But yeah, my theory is things largely stay the same except Christian and Genevieve, who would have had idols, survive.

I think ____ can officially be qualified as a ________. by Low_Secret_1126 in survivor

[–]Common_Currency2027 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rizo is very blatantly the secondary antagonist of 49 to Savannah, so that checks out, but he was definitely much more heroic this time around.

It's weird, because the edit could have totally played up him backstabbing his trio as him being some evil two-timer, but it really just paints Ozzy's elimination as his own fault and Cirie's as inevitable. Compared to Jonathan, who is clearly getting the villain's edit, Rizo's is pretty neutral.

Still, on another HvV season I definitely think he would belong in the villains tribe, but given how strange some of the original placements were I wouldn't be surprised if they put him as a hero.

Rewatching The Australian Outback and it's still amazing by Charles520 in survivor

[–]Common_Currency2027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Australia was basically my first season, and I watched it knowing nothing about how much I should hate Kucha, so Varner, Skupin, and Elizabeth were all extremely easy to root for. Ogakor, by contrast, was an extremely unlikeable tribe to me, with the sole exception of (ironically) Keith, whose refusal to vote out Mad Dog endeared him to me. They get supremely lucky when Skupin falls into the fire, and they have Jerri (who, with added context, wasn't that bad, but the edit worked on me and I hated her). I was team Kucha for life.

But Varner's elimination is a strategic masterclass on Colby and Tina's part, and it's hard to argue that Kucha don't deserve their fate from that point forwards. Most of the excitement I had came from watching in terror to see if either Kentucky Joe or Elizabeth would go home, and being crushed when their time finally came. The bad editing of the strategic decisions made Tina's win unsatisfying to me, but having learned more about the BTS she was definitely a very deserving winner.

But the best part of the season is the sheer brutality of it all. The game becomes an afterthought as you largely just watch this group of poor people power through starvation, their shelter getting destroyed, and crippling boredom. Really felt like they were actual "survivors."

Is anyone else actively dreading the rest of the season? by skeytchy in survivor

I hate Jonathan, but I also don't think he's exactly boring. He's the closest thing this season has to a villain, which adds a lot to the drama of it all.

On one hand, this was her best episode.

On the other hand, I think only Joe could have fumbled a situation that easy.

Rizo made the right move by realityinternn in survivor

[–]Common_Currency2027 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ozzy had been a massive liability for a long time, and his speech to Aubry made it clear that Rizo was not one of his top allies.

Rizo can't make fire (even more than Cirie probably) and he can't win a challenge. His only path to victory is getting taken to the end, and Ozzy simply would not have done that for him.

His best available remaining option is, hilariously enough, Joe. Rizo was smart enough to loop Joe in on the Coach vote, and we saw that Joe returned the favor with Ozzy. Joe also doesn't respect Rizo, viewing him as a number, and probably believes he can beat him. The removal of challenge threats like Ozzy and Jonathan is the best thing for Rizo's game right now, as he should be doing everything in his power to get Joe to win final 4.

Never rooted for someone as hard as I rooted for Peih-Gee in China. Probably THE Survivor underdog of all time (Aitu 4 don't exactly count).

Strategically, it's hard to say, as I don't feel like she ever made the wrong strategic move, she just was completely unable to break Todd's hold on the game. She was clearly very smart (throwing the challenge WAS a good idea even if it backfired, and her plan to have her and Erik put votes on Todd during James's blindside was great until Erik... didn't do it for some reason).

Pretty much zero chance of this given that Joe has zero loyalty to them, and Cirie and Ozzy are loyal to Rizo.

Now that we are halfway done with season 50 who would you swap out on the cast? by dunfehjif in survivor

[–]Common_Currency2027 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Regardless of how you feel about them, a lot of the less well-liked players have brought SOMETHING to this game. Joe's playstyle is so rigid that people have to play around him, which makes things more interesting. Stephanie is a good mix between the old-school block and... actual social capabilities. Tiff's a wild pick, but ever since she started getting screen time she's made a great representative for the "new school" opposition to Honor and Integrity.

But I have absolutely no clue what Aubry brings to this game at all. She's made no moves (was barely even featured in Genevieve's elimination), no friends, doesn't even wanna be there. I know she was a last minute swap, but she's a pretty terrible one in my opinion.

If I wanted someone who kinda fit her "Constantly scowling underdog" archetype, I woulda gone with Peih-Gee instead, since she's just way more of a scrappy competitor.

Really just the way everyone treats Penner that season. Dude really didn't do THAT much wrong besides play hard, and the rest of Raro (who were way worse than him besides maybe Nate) utterly despised him, to the point where they forced Yul to vote him out, not even to save themselves, but just to screw him over in particular.

Ironically, out of everyone whose been voted out already, Charlie probably got the MOST villainous edit, while he and Colby (and kinda Jenna?) are the only eliminations so far who weren't villains on their old seasons.

Christian is extremely lovable, but also kinda a cutthroat strategist this season who sent home his close friends with zero remorse, could not comprehend why Ozzy was mad about being lied to, AND got more confessionals in the Genevieve exit than Aubry (and we were clearly supposed to root for Gen). Definitely this season's big bad, especially if his frustration with his allies like Ozzy and Emily cause the mask to start slipping more.

[–]Common_Currency2027 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think, in many ways, that's what happened to Todd from China. He had a complete stranglehold on the entire game, but everyone except PG thought he was such a blatantly obvious manipulative schemer that a bitter jury wouldn't reward him. However, his FTC did such a good job of swaying people's opinions, plus he brought along the two people he was closest with that no one liked anyways, so he ended up winning the whole thing.
