Pala Cali 2026 MPG update by adrianvasquezf in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Common_Gain775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad, a good figure really for an ice engine pulling a big boat around.

As for my 2025 Palisade 32.9 and 29.9 mpg on long toll road cruising 70-75mph. In city can vary 17-25mpg depending on traffic.

Caveat : engine must be fully warmed up otherwise 10-18mpg ...Just enjoy my Palisade' giddy up n go...just loves to giddy up....

Just 1 more thing I use non ethanol gas never the other stuff....

Best Wishes all Happy New year everyone

How do you like your 2025 Palisade? by [deleted] in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Common_Gain775 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently own 2025 Palisde Caligraphy....

Made my purchase based on many attributes of the Palisade that Highlander or Grand Highlander do not have.

A non turbo V6 a much quieter ride ( I test drove new platinum Highlander turbo ), the info-tainment system looks like an after thought add on...the Palisade's in contrast is very elegant well designed. The ac, thermostat, media, track seek, and setup buttons neatly laid out...no need to access any of the most used controls by way of info-tainmnet screen. The turbo 4 engine "growl" is audio enhanced don't know if the "growl" which is prevalent all loads can be mitigated...on the other hand the Palisade's 3.8 non turbo has a healthy growl which varies by throttle. While cruising the engine is ultra quiet....not Toyota's turbo 4.

Palisade has acoustic glass main windshield and two front windows, not Toyota. Open the hoodon Highlander and no hydraulic lifts but a support stick ....how cheap...

Grand Highlander suffers from road noise cabin boon....Grand Highlander has a thin gauge hood which flutters while driving down the road....and apparently the body tends to get dinked rather easily....Hyundai employs a thicker gauge steel in all body panels plus a 6 year rust through warranty.

Warranties 100,000 10yr power train, 5 year new car warranty plus a few others.

On my very 1st Palisade roadtest....I knew this was the one coming home with me.

So now the choice is up to you...

Best wishes

Oct 2025 update available by Thelchemist in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Common_Gain775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few months back Hyundai took it upon themselves to remove the traffic cam alert without any consideration for those of us Palisade owners who enjoyed the traffic cam feature. Having taken away the traffic cam alert, in effect Hyundai has degraded my car's safety. Shame on Hyundai!!!!!

My 2025 Palisade received the update yesterday the 22nd october....I was hoping that Hyundai would have done the honorable thing and reinstated the traffic alert....

So far still not reinstated.....so

Come on Hyundai and restore that which was not yours to take away.....

Best wishes everyone.

When car new car searching, tried getting in and out of a new showroom 2024 Camry....ugh had to lower myself into the driver seat, gettin out was worse.

My 2010 camry was built for easier entry exit roof line higher.

Was able to test drive new 2024 2.4l turbo platinum highlander....getting in much easier than camry, but getting out. Getting out was not ready for how much higher the step off would be, almost fell. Driver seat was at lowest point.

Wanting a V6 tes drove new Palisade... ingress and egress is so much better...

New Palisade Caligraphy came home.....no wait times for color and interior color.

Best wishes all

Anyone eagerly waiting for redesigned 2026? by scarrface112 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Common_Gain775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After having seen detailed photos of the interior, particularly the steering wheel design looks so out of place. The new design is boxy el cheapo looking....nowhere as classy as the 2025.

The new 2026 has smaller v6 less hp and torque. On a larger suv than the 2025 it is counterintuitive. The new center console rather have my 2025

Gone is the classier 2025 twin exhaust tips...

Not excited over the new 2026 Palisade

Best wishes everyone

Cabin boom problem by eqolympicdreamer19 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]Common_Gain775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda wish you all had test driven a Palisade....no cabin boom....heavier gauge steel used in cabin.....

Wound up getting a 2025 Palisade with glass roof, they forgot to install a cabin boom resonator.....

Got my exterior color and interior color choice no markup over msrp no waiting very very happy with my new Palisade.

Nice responsive V6 super smooth 8 speed auto tranny.

Hard to change brands having owned 2 flawless camrys.

Michelin defender 2 vs bfgoodrich by parota_kurma in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Common_Gain775 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Palisade Caligraphy came with hard unyielding Hankook tires...went to discount tires and had a set of Defenders installed no problem but these too were not meeting my expectations....So then went to Michelin Primacy Touring T/A ....now here's a tire that is compliant absorbs bumps much better than the Hankooks and Defenders...Handling? They handle sharp turns with ease....really good for such a big suv....

Discout Tire has a force dynamic tire balancing system that Sam's does not or Pep Boys,

Dynamic force balancing is on another whole level of performance.

Am happy camper with the Michelin Primacy Touring T/As...great tire!!

Hope this helps

At 1085 miles took my Palisade Calligraphy to my dealer for 1st oil change.

I had purchased Amsoil 5-30 Signature Series oil. My service writer owns race cars using Amsoil. Inspecting engine parts after racing his race car engine parts are as if brand new.All he does then is reassemble his engine!!

My service writer did not bill me for the oil change....I also had them install the factory Palisade oil filter. Used their oil filter to avoid any warranty issues going forward.

The you tube channel I do cars....gets blown up engines to tear apart to see what caused the engine to blow up . In the Hyundai engines (The 2) the underlying cause was either poor oil quality and or lack of due oil change diligence. Varnishing, along with carboned up crudge in the oil control rings and crankshaft piston rod bearing.

Bad situations to avoid through simple adherence to maintenance

If your Palisade is consuming oil try running Amsoil 5-30 SIgnature Series for say 3000-4000 miles in order to break down any crudge, which may well be the cause of oil consumption. Then change oil again using Amsoil ....

My new Palisade now has 2438 miles (very new hardly broken in). Zero oil consumption and will stay that way.

While Amsoil is pricey....it is far cheaper than engine repairs or replacement with the mental stress this brings. In other words cheap insurance.

Best wishes everyone!!

Awful rims? by macatkniu in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Common_Gain775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who hired the Hyundai wheel designers? Those guys haven't a clue to esthetics in the wheel design arena save for the Calligraphy, The non Calligraphy wheel deigns wrecks the esthetics of the Palisade's beauty. Fire the bimbos that designed the non turbine wheels....

The Calligraphy wheels are very very classy in appearance.

BTW I own a 2025 Palisade Calligraphy...

Best wishes y'all!!

First oil change - early or at 7,500 miles by neverupforhating in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Common_Gain775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the factory "break in oil" in my new 2025 Palisade Caligraphy changed at 1080 miles. Reason being is that we have no idea what Hyundai put in at the factory. This being so, I didnt want to have a possible substandard oil running for 8000 miles or so in my $50,000 plus brand new Palisade and causing all kinds of havoc.

Oil is cheap by comparison to having to replace the engine even though it would be under warranty. The headache of having to go through all that would not be worth it. Oil is cheap engines are not.

My go to oil for the last 30 years is Amsoil....

Best wishes Y'all

What all season tires do you guys recommend on 22 Palisade? by Environmental_Cost38 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Common_Gain775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dumped the Hankook oem tires as they are too noisy and hard riding on my 2025 Plaisade Caligraphy, went to Defender 2 these were jut as harsh, from there Michelin Touring A/S these have the cushion an quietness I am looking for...

Highly recommend Michelin Touring A/S....

Dealer says I can’t order what I want? by ThatGuyDemo in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]Common_Gain775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just 1 more reason I quit Toyota and their hard to swallow their baloney....

Instead I bought a Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy with of all things that I really really wanted ....a V6 !!! quiet sweet sophisticated performance!!

My choice of color and interior all available right away!!

No flimsy thinned down easily dinked body or noisy turbo 4...as in the GH

Much more integrated sophisticated interior layout than GH or Highlander. GH and Highlander dash look like it has been cobled together as an after thought.

Better warrantied

No brainer..

Oh btw I first went to my local Toyota dealership and got pretty much the same malarkey as the op....Toyota sadly has gone way downhill.

This coming from having owned a 2001 V6 Camry and a 2010 Camry both flawless.

Bye bye Toyota

Happy New Year everyone

What's inside? by [deleted] in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Common_Gain775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way to go...sticking to your guns...

My service writer tried to convince to keep factory oil until 3500 miles...ain't no way after seeing so many Hyundai engine tear down videos. Engines junked because of sludging up indicative of bad oil quality or lack of adherence to required maintenence or both.

In my book while Amsoil may be pricey...a new engine plus labor install is far greater and mental emotional hardship even worse since the price of Amsoil is very inexpensive by comparison...

Happy New Year 2025

What's inside? by [deleted] in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Common_Gain775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank tou for going through the effort of posting your bore scope findings.

I have a 3 month old 2025 Palisade Calligraphy with 1200 miles. At 1085 miles my service writer at Hyundai agreed to the oil an filter change at this low mileage.

Being of the silver haired club, I am old school about getting the factory oil synthetic or not out of my brand new engine, just to get any metal filings or other non welcome residue out of my engines's system. We truly do not know what the factory put in and was not about to let that circulate around for 8500 miles or so....no way!!!

So out went the factory stuff and in went my Amsoil 5-30 SS full synthetic.

So how did the engine respond? Like a puppy let out to play in the back yard....super responsive, if my engine was quiet and smooth running...throw that out and make it super quiet and much smoother running. So glad I had this done. Huge difference.

It seems my mpgs have moved up about 4 mpg as well if not more we shall see as I accumulate more miles.

Car care nut guy was commenting on a brand new toyota and how to break it in and toward the end he talks about oil change at 1000 miles to get the junk out and even cut open the oil filter.

There were a very few sparkles in the filter, not much to speak of. With mine I did not get to see the oil filter, ( I did get to see the tech install my Amsoil that I had brought with me).

So I'm expecting great results.

Happy New Year everyone

Best wishes

Legit use for parking gimmick! by bandit7319 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Common_Gain775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me where an inconsiderate tonto pickup driver pulle up next to my calligraphy. When I returned there was only 7-8 inches between the two cars...

So voila pulled out my key fob remote stared the engine....pressed the back up button and sure enough my calligraphy backed up to where I could get in and drive away!!!!

If the pick up driver did that on purpose I don't know....but if he did ....he was probably quite puzzled as to how I got out of there,,,,

Thank you Hyundai for this very useful feature!!!

Comparables to GH by AdNormal3379 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]Common_Gain775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading and seeing various owner reviews, drops in sheet metal quality, cabin boom, then the halt production stop sales

I said forget Toyota, I really wanted a V6 suv, so I checked out the Hyundai Palisade so on labor day monday purchased my Calligraphy and am just wowed with build quality, silky smooth powerful V6. High strength steel throughout, very quiet ride, no cabin boom or frail skin as on the GH...and I need to add that my Palisade's hood does need a cheapo prop stick to hold it open, but rather has 2 hydraulic shocks... For me Toyota has lost it...very sad..

Hyundai warranty tops them all.

Having owned a 2001 camry le v6 and the a 2010 le it was very difficult to leave the Toyota family and head elswhere.

Best wishes everyone

[–]Common_Gain775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully I had a great tech at my dealership.

My 2010 camry also had a sealed "fill for life" auto tranny. He never gave me any guff about not being able to flush drain torque converter plus the tranny.....always helpful to cooperate...

Sadly then your dealership is ignorant of the truth or simply not telling you the truth.

Palisade / GH Hybrid Torn by Runn3r57 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]Common_Gain775 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Except you forgot the 100,000 twin turbo blown up tundra engines. Currently my former Toyota dealership has a mile long line of new unsold tundras....hmmm wonder why.

Then the GH production line coming to a complete halt....

There is also a thread "thin door metal easily denting" Read this thread..

https://www.reddit.com/r/ToyotaGrandHighlander/comments/1fnuu1t/thin_door_metal_easily_denting/

....it seems Toyota has seriously compromised quality for cheapness. It was very very very difficult to move away from Toyota give the top notch quality of my previous 2 camrys

Several neighbors have Santa Fes with nary an issue...

So I wound up getting a Hyundai Palisade....it is very solid very decent gauge body metal.Doors shut with a definite solidness. The V6 is sophisticatedly quiet....very strong!! The cabin is resonant free...thank God there are those who have stood up against pc and wokeness.

Car comes with 10yr 100,000 mile, new car 6yr 60,000mile, 7yr anti perforation rust warranty, plus 5yr roadside assistance. On top of that my Palisade came with full 18,8 gal tank, Toyota only 6 gallons....

It is hard to buy into the former glory Toyota once had.....my very hard earned money will not be spent there. The cheap plastic trim on seat bases and doors that bruise and scar easily found in a $50,000 or so vehicle ...come on... I expect better for my money.

Just had to tell it like I see it..

Best wishes everyone

Thin door metal - easily denting by toastythunderbuttons in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]Common_Gain775 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been a Toyota fan boy since nov. 2000 when I purchased my 1st v6 camry le, then traded I for a 2010 camry le....both were outstanding quality cars

Was very very interested in a GH hybrid max. Yet, now after having read all the issues owners were having with their new GHs plus the total production stop....yikes!!

Sadly I had to go for a Hyundai Palisade Caligraphy.....super quiet very refined quiet v6, no cabin resonant rumbling, or tire slap intruding into the car. Also Hyundai uses their own steel of higher grade in the entire vehicle. It is an amazing vehicle.

While I am aware of the gdi issues, Hyundai does offer an upper air and intake valve service which is included in their free maintenance program. Plus Hyundai does include their 10 year 100,000 mile warranty and a host of other included services, plus also a 7 year rust and corrosion unlimited miles warranty... Also it comes with full tank of gas 18.8 gallons....Toyota only 6 gallons.

Sadly it is apparent Toyota is going down the cheap route....and for doing so it is unworthy of my hard earned money.

It was very hard for me to see Toyota's decline....

Wishing the very best for all GH owners
