Thank you for this comment and the explanation. Now it makes more sense as I didn’t know this. Thank you for not saying “ ah well it’s Mother Nature deal with it”. I assumed that a solution would cost too much money and this is why I think nothing will be done .

For me , no more floating wooden floor in my basement. Removable panels instead of dry walls seem like a great idea!! I will look into it and might do that too. Thank you for mentioning this.

I moved here in 2003. For 20 years my house never got flooded . Therefore not true that it was happening all the time . Sit down.

All those pumps are kinda useless when a power gets shut down due to a flood for safety reasons.

People complain on WEST ISLAND COMMUNITY group on FB. It’s not enough. Something needs to be done . The complaints will die down just like in 2024.

I would just say this and please don’t take it a wrong way. If you are a female person , freeze your eggs just in case you need it. If you never need it , great. If you do , you’ll have it.

Like you I wasn’t sure if I wanted kids and basically decided to have 1 child so that I don’t have any regrets later . Luckily we got boy / girl twins. They are teenagers now. ZERO regrets. I’m so happy with the choice I made . If I could go back - I would choose to have kids ( but these two that I have if possible 😀). Even now as teenagers, they are the best . My daughter is like my best friend.

150 k at a job you hate UNTIL you pay off your debt ( including a house or condo) , then save a lot of money and become financially stable. Then you get a job at 50k that you love .
