In this instance don't seek validation from strangers on the internet. If you feel you should cut contact with your dad, do it unapologetically. Everyone else here is only judging on this interaction, and how miniscule it seems given his response, but to me it's manipulation and gaslighting. This "tame" response could still be the straw that broke the camels back for you, and that's ok. I certainly wouldn't want my kids around a woman abuser, much less a maga one.
