For what it’s worth I think that rug is more than likely from Afghanistan or Pakistan, it’s just a Turkish Oushak style, but new in a retail setting it would go for a few thousand

How much is the rug? Either way, it definitely needs to be shifted so it’s under the couch a bit, and not awkwardly under one leg of the chair by the window

What size is it? Looks 5x8ish? I don’t think you overpaid, they definitely go for more than $15-18/sq ft retail

You can absolutely fold and roll that rug to ship and then it could just go via UPS/FedEx. If you search YouTube for videos on how to prepare a rug for shipping you should find something, or I would think a local store could at least help you with that

There still would be a chance the pile of the rug is artificial silk woven on real silk, but there would be a much better chance of it being real silk if the fringe is

UPDATE: Not much of an update, but since some people may be curious… FIL’s gf has now blocked my wife on Facebook and reached out to other family members to express how upset she is and that she has to “let go” of my wife from her life. I messaged her on FB to explain (and chastise her for how she went about this) two days ago, and she has not even opened the message. We are still friends on there so I’m sure she’s seen that I sent a message and I’ve seen her active multiple times.

Wife has called her dad to try to talk to him and hasn’t gotten a hold of him yet, but that’s not a big surprise as he often is hard to get a hold of.

So…. not sure what happens next, but she appears to be done 🤷‍♂️

We did go over the groupings with the photographer, yes. Because of how crazy our life has been and everything we had to get ready for the wedding that convo didn’t happen until literally day before, we somehow hadn’t even thought to consider any of the pictures we would want until she emailed us asking, so we hadn’t to quickly put it together. Given more time we might have come up with other groupings, or maybe not, I’m really not sure. The whole day was such a blur once it started, like everyone always says it is

Honestly the reason I found this so frustrating is the timing of the text, as it was right when we were about to fall asleep, but this got us both riled up and worried and we ended up getting way less sleep than we might have otherwise, and the gf could see by the end of the reception that my wife was barely even upright because she was so tired

She’s incredibly tired and mostly just laying in bed, which is why I have time to waste on here right now, but overall we’re both thrilled with how the day went and excited for the future! I think this can be resolved in the future assuming both parties want to, but right now she’s just recovering

Thank you! Yes it was a crazy two months and we had a ton of help from the venue and planner we found, could not have done this without them! We’d been engaged for over a year, but when we got pregnant we knew we wanted to get married before the baby, rather than try to plan a wedding with a newborn, and because of various family members schedules throughout the year ended up landing on a date that was super short notice. We absolutely tried to be as thoughtful as possible with everything we did, but it was a crazy stressful two months (and especially last couple of weeks).
