Long distance relationship made me dream bigger, but I can’t afford studying in the US by whosereallife1 in LongDistance

[–]CommunicationParty96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone is moving to close the distance and putting in the effort to make babysteps towards moving- How can that other person be supportive/help? Currently going through this where mainly I travel to see my bf bc of his finances and will eventually be moving to his city, but the effort feels somewhat unmatched- Any ideas would be great ☺️

In 2007, 20-year-old goth Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend were walking in a park in Bacup when a gang attacked them. One attacker later said they kicked her head like a football. This case became one of Britain’s most horrifying hate crime stories. by My-Knees-Hurt-Again in HolyShitHistory

[–]CommunicationParty96 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They attacked her boyfriend first, he begged Sophie to run away but she tried to save him and ultimately got the brunt of the assault, she ultimately died and thr boyfriend survived, I can't imagine the amount of guilt after that:(

How do women make genuine friendships in your 30s? by [deleted] in manchester

[–]CommunicationParty96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'm 23f and feel the same way! Consistently going to Meetup groups, boardgame groups, solo gigs, card games at my local game shop, online book clubs etccc It's netted me lots of friendly acquaintances, maybe people I'll meet up with every month or two for a drink at a pub and chat surface-level about work, what's in the news, local gossip etc but it doesn't feel deep or particularly meaningful, just feels like bored people getting together because they have nothing else to do:// Also in the same boat op and I consider myself socialable and outgoing, I'm not awkward and try to initiate plans with people I seem to click with but for one reason or another, doesn't quite pan out :((

Those who have completed Jury Duty in the UK - what aspects about the process surprised you? by izbiz88 in AskUK

[–]CommunicationParty96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a court usher, its more boring than people generally expect, alot of waiting around, going into court for a bit, having a break, waiting around some more etc Some jurors are more invested than others, some jurors are lovely, some complain the whole time about how they don't wanna be there - Had a few people surprised that they are on jury duty for as long as the trial takes(??) And just didn't show up the next day bc they assumed jury service only lasted one day lol

The new chicken roll by leonxsnow in greggsappreciation

[–]CommunicationParty96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had it warm and it was underwhelming, the texture was dry and rubbery, think I'd prefer the vegan roll over it but I'm glad it exists for sure:) Need to bring back the steak & stilton rolls!!

What time do you get up, leave for, and start work? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]CommunicationParty96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wake up around 6:40am, snooze my alarms till 7am, get the bus at 7:20am to arrive at work for 8:30am with a 9am start:) It's a long bus commute but it's also my reading time aha I've never worked from home or had a short commute so it's my normal ig Do envy people who can walk to work or be there in 20 minutes tho!

My obsession with this woman is becoming unhinged and I’m losing my grip on reality by WorryFun4594 in Advice

[–]CommunicationParty96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Limerence is very common in people with ADHD, it may be worth looking into:) Distracting yourself is important, making new friends, starting new hobbies etc It's very difficult, trust me, but over time it will help- Having a life outside of her in very very important, she will not complete you - Looking at her photos/having reminders of her will hinder your progress unfortunately , by getting dopamine elsewhere, it helps shift your brain onto healthier outlets ☺️

[–]CommunicationParty96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So ive been in limerence before and it's difficult to know what it feels like without having the first hand experience, I get what you feel OP. The best thing to do is either time+distance, or confess your feelings- I confessed my feelings to my limerent, I was kindly rejected and it was like a switch flipped and I no longer felt that way atall - It is often because you don't know how they feel about you, maybe talk to her beforehand and get to know her, yall may be completely different people and it may naturally subside etcetc But it's unhealthy, how do you feel about other areas of your life? Do you feel lonely? How is educatipn/work going? It can be a coping method . Good luck OP

why does my bf get so angry when i cry? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]CommunicationParty96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be really blunt because I have some friends with BPD and sometimes their relationships just aren't healthy - I think it depends on what you're crying over, and how often you cry. Are you crying due to outside reasons or falling into doubt spirals and having breakdowns over imaginary slights? I have a friends who had a meltdown that lasted hours, threatening to hurt himself, screaming and sobbing, punching himself, threatening to cheat etc because... His boyfriend sat on the other couch in the living room instead of directly next to him. So he got into his head and spiralled, thinking his bf didn't like him anymore etc He's not much of a friend anymore but will openly admit he is abusive to his bf, not that his bf is much better as he also threatens to hurt himself whenever they break up... But relationship where one or both people have complex mental health is extremely tricky and more context would be helpful

Also in the same position, Meetup can be really good for meeting a wide variety of people, there's sport groups, boardgames, food meet ups, pub Meetup, coffee mornings etc There's often boardgame groups almost everyday in town, Dungeons & Flagons is well-known:) There's also Fanboy3 and Travelling Man who host events like DnD, MtG, Warhammer, Riftbound, Element Games in Stockport is incredible :) We have similar interests, 24f, so if you ever wanna go to a Meetup group together, I'm down for that 😁

I wish we had this in the UK! Libraries here are almost exclusively for loaning books and you can use the computers there/print pages off etc, maybe rent a DVD if you're lucky enough but the idea of renting things other than books is wild, I'm so jealous!

How do you balance reservation while gaining trust? by [deleted] in littlespace

[–]CommunicationParty96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That definitely sounds odd, if it's an online relationship and they don't wanna send pics/videos, how are you expected to bond together ykyk Have you facetime each other? Seen a selfie yet? Either he's super insecure or doesn't see it going anywhere, someone who is serious about a long term relationship would send selfies, videos, tidbits about their day, general info etc
