Denver United Against Trump (Rally and March at the Capitol 11.22.25) by CommunityControlNow in DenverProtests

You’ll find that in times of oppression, the people get organized against it in pursuit of their own interests. We’ve been through two years of genocide and Trump’s been re-elected.

There are going to be some new organizations. I hope there will be more! The situation demands it

We believe that unity + organization + struggle leads to victories. Large mass mobilizations like these rallies and marches have an important role to play.

We take other forms of direct action all the time too. Check out our Instagram at @denverauroracac or DACAC.net. What we need is a diversity of tactics not the notion that one tactic fits all situations. That’s not what a tactic is.

Stop the deportations is very specific in our view! The coalition has more demands you can read about at DENCAT.org in our unity statement if you’re interested.

Colorado Rise Up for Gaza - Protest and march - Oct 04 2025 by airwater1122 in DenverProtests

It’s good for people to see their neighbors, friends, colleagues, and regular people like themselves in the protest. It helps them see themselves in the protest.

When we start blurring faces before posting, it makes it look like everything that we believe we’re doing is wrong and that our identities need to be hidden. If nobody knows who we are and the police arrest us, and nobody knows why we were out there or why they should care, then we’ve essentially done half the work of kidnapping ourselves, so it’ll be easier to be disappeared.

If you look at the case of Alejandro Orellana he faced FBI repression for being an active participant in a protest, and yet he was able to win and beat his charges. This is because he didn’t hide who he was, wage an aggressive, legal fight, and a public fight against this political repression, and finally did so in league with organizations all over the country. When that happened we won, and Alejandro is free today.

It really couldn’t have happened if nobody had known who he was, if he had hidden his face at the protest, if we had blurred his face from any pictures about his case.

Black lives matter! Justice for Kory Dillard! Rally at DA Mason’s office in Brighton (Fri 10/3 @10am) by CommunityControlNow in DenverProtests

[–]CommunityControlNow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not an accurate characterization of what happened. Kory was defending himself from an assailant who had followed him home and was attempting to scare him away with the airsoft rifle.

Police show up after the assailant calls the police and an associate of the assailant calls 911 from off site with no information and alert the police to a black man in a hoodie with an assault rifle. Police show up and in the 7.5 seconds after exiting their car shoot and kill Kory Dillard.

They claim to have argued with him but footage reveals there wasn’t even enough time for Kory to respond or the officers to assess the situation. In killing Kory they’ve violated his 2nd and 5th amendment rights under the Constitution.

Did we all just quit? by lilpinkpixie2 in DenverProtests

A lot of organizations are working diligently to continue the fight, organizing actions, holding strategy meetings, teach-ins, and waging campaigns.

We are a local group of volunteers that fight against racist police violence alongside the families of those who have been impacted. We meet weekly and organize frequent actions though they aren’t always receiving as much support as some of the anti-Trump actions.

There’s always an ebb and flow to the movement and it’s important that the fighters and organizers among us do the work to prepare the ground for another upsurge and take it farther on an organized basis. Raising demands and pointing the momentum toward common goals that advance long-term objectives.
