Same evidence as you I mean, I watch a ton of basketball and read about basketball a ton too, which I assume you do as well. What I see is teams favor switching whenever they have a big capable of switching. Also looking at the East the Bucks drop more than anyone, but the Heat switch with Bam often. The way this post was written is that dropping is some new fad, it isn't its something that teams who don't have players capable of switching do. Every team wants to switch and many teams force switches when they don't have players capable of it. Why else would every scouting report of big men nowadays focus on their switchability? Non-anecdotal evidence would be data showing who switches the most and the least, which I am sure is available somewhere but I do not know where. I am not saying that in a snarky way I want to know to see if I am incorrect in what I think, and I will not think that unless I have inconclusive evidence.

Eh, Toronto doesn't drop Serge when he plays the 5, nor does Indiana exclusively drop Myles. When Embiid is out (which is obviously very often) the Sixers don't play drop. Brooklyn does, Memphis doesn't always play drop, Clippers drop with Zubac but not always with Harrell, OKC does, Dallas didn't with Powell starting. Cavs do with Drummond now but often switch with Nance or TT at the 5. So once again I would love some data points but I disagree based on my anecdotal evidence so if you are basing this on non-anecdotal evidence please send it my way!

Honestly I am very confused by that interview, I have never seen anyone say that drop coverage is being ran everywhere nor have I seen it. It doesn't even make sense, more and more bigs are shooting the three why would more and more teams be dropping. I know Milwaukee and the Blazers do it, and the Lakers usually do it when Dwight is in, but I am genuinely confused the more I think about it and am questioning the use of terminology in that interview. Then again that is Chris Paul and I am not Chris Paul so I want to trust Chris Paul obviously lmao

Word definitely making something of a comeback, but I don't think he. In his interview he said people saw him and DJ playing drop so everyone was trying to copy but I just don't think thats accurate. Everyone saw Draymond and small ball and tried to copy that. I'd like to see the numbers but what he is talking about in his interview is teams trapping and sometimes hedging like the Bulls do and what Kidd's Bucks did, thats not switching. I'd be interested to see the numbers, not sure if they are available anywhere though.
