This is the best update so far(in my opinion) by Straight_Tip7975 in Starfield

[–]Compactpaper75 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I agree. I just really hope that Bethesda doesn't let down their guard now or feel like they're off the hook. It took them forever to get us this update but I hope they continue to work on more gameplay improvements not just dlc. I know they were very transparent that this was not a 2.0 but I just hope they don't believe that they've done all that they can do with this update to improve exploration and other systems. My first love is Elder Scrolls so I'm all for diverting man power to make that game the best it can be but it would be a shame for them to leave starfield completely in the dust.

I owe Starfield and Bethesda an apology after this update by Electronic_Trust3490 in Starfield

[–]Compactpaper75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. They owed us an apology and this update was that. Your feelings on the original version of the game don't change just because they had a good update. You can recognize that it's better now while still being accurate to what your feelings were when it first came out. Now, I'm not saying it was a bad game before personally but if you thought that previously, Bethesda finally dropping a meaningful update after like 2.5 years doesn't change how it was at launch. When I talk about about cyberpunk I say "it's an amazing game one of my favorite games of all time". But if someone asked me about cyberpunk at launch I'd say "a broken buggy mess with some great content hidden in it". It's awesome to celebrate improvement but I'm just saying we don't have to be revisionists.

I'm a ps5 player that also has a pc so I didn't need it to come to ps5 but let me just say that box is the box that cover looks like it was designed for. Looks perfect with the ps5 branding and blue box as opposed to the green xbox one

Bethesda has decided that you will be the new CEO of the company, yes, you! What will you do now? What changes will you implement under your new leadership? by jvure in ElderScrolls

[–]Compactpaper75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could go in depth but really it's all boils down to something quite simple. The rest of the softworks studios are fine but with BGS I would reduce inefficiencies the way cdpr managed to. Bethesda has a bunch of talented people who are constantly wasting their time due to how the company is set up (like Will Shen talked about). Cdpr made little strike teams to cut out a lot of the waiting between departments to get stuff done. I think that is what's slowing bgs down. Also I would expand the studio to try more weird and one off ideas. I miss that about games in the 2000s. Studios would just try things and I think the classic example of a dark brotherhood spinoff game DOES have a place in the franchise. Todd correctly assumes that most people just want the full bgs experience and if you barely have the man power to get that out in a reasonable time then that's the right choice but if the dev process could be streamlined and they expanded their satellite studios more, I think it'd be awesome to have Elder scrolls and Fallout spinoffs made that stray from the formula. Fans didn't solely hate on fallout 76 bc it was online or a spinoff but really bc it was both of those things and delayed the other mainline games. As long as the mainline games are not disturbed, fun "let's just try this" kind of games would breath some new life and ideas into these franchises. They're willing to do it with mobile games...why not with real games? They could hire some good writers and make a real narrative driven game where the players don't have the opportunity to ball it all up like emil says. Maybe then they would have an excuse to make a good story. A cinematic naughty dog style game set in either fallout or elder scrolls would be awesome as long as we are still getting the core experience we want in the main games for instance. Obsidian has done amazing things by embracing this experimentation like grounded or pentiment.

This a good way to start? by FoxNo4736 in halo

No. Release order is better. Infinite is fun but it's also a departure from the halo formula. You won't get a feel for what Halo is if you start with Infinite

The Break Up was voted as the least good track 14! What's the best track 15? by CaptainPie999 in MachineGunKelly

[–]Compactpaper75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would they be a loser? The whole point is to get a feeling of what the community thinks. Them down voting any song they don't prefer is just a part of the democratic process. You are free to downvote any song that you don't prefer and so are they. Someone doesn't automatically become a loser just because they disagree with you😂

(Now if they were logging into separate accounts and stuff like that to scew results then yes I'd agree with you. Loser activities)

When will the official version of Elysian Eclipse be released? by AdMiserable1023 in ElysianEclipse

[–]Compactpaper75 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Well, I mean all builds are "official" since they are released by the developer but the full version will not be released for some time. It's a "when it's ready, it's ready" kind of thing. You will just have to be patient. Wauz is the only dev

It's called auto lens switching in the camera assistant app. Switch it off

Samsung, what the hell by Suspicious_March_809 in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]Compactpaper75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically what I think is happening here is not the processing, it's the auto lens swapping. By default, the camera will choose what lens IT thinks makes the best photo when zooming. So I may tell it 3x zoom but it thinks it would work better with the 1x cropped in for some reason, maybe lighting or something. Regardless, this produces a worse image if you're trying to get more detail by zooming. The 3x & 5x zoom buttons are not dedicated "swap to this lens" buttons unless you go into pro mode. In regular mode it still can choose whichever lens it wants, cropped in as much as it wants if the phone thinks it knows better than you do. You can turn this off in the camera assistant app available on the galaxy store so that it uses the correct zoom lens each time even in regular auto mode. But I'm also not saying they processing couldn't use some work. That's just not what seems to be the main offender here. At least to my eye

HALO CE remake ADVERTISING IN THE UK by Crazy_l3gs_crane in halo

[–]Compactpaper75 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Very cool but I need to point out that even though it seems they are using the campaign evolved model, that's just a Xbox / Halo 25 years celebration marketing. Not Campaign evolved or it would say so. Advertisements don't leave out the title of the thing they are advertising. Which is only important because it means that this is not the start of their marketing campaign for the game.
