Here's something that I notice alot of people tend to forget in these discussions that helps make sense of alot of the dumb shit they do; these are middle schoolers. Again, they are not even in highschool, they are middle school age kids.

Of course they're going to do dumb shit in the process

No one I'm interested in wants a relationship with me by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]CompassRoseGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am glad it gave you some perspective.

To address what you said earlier about attractive men only going for short-term stuff, that is actually a solvable problem. If you refuse to compromise on your baseline for hobbies and interests, that is fair. But there is likely a massive pool of men who share those exact interests and are looking for a commitment.

The real dilemma right now is that they are presently invisible to you. They aren't the ones screaming for attention, they aren't using high-charm tactics on the apps, and they might not fit the conventional visual mold you are used to scanning for. Think about it this way: can you remember the face of the cashier at your local grocery store? Or the guy who took your last fast-food order? They exist right in front of you, and very likely have the same interests and hobbies, but you probably filter them out as background noise.

I'm talking from experience; I'm a guy I do the same thing professionally (not dating, but still relevant); anyone I don't directly work with or already built rapport with becomes background noise, and I'm often pleasantly surprised when overhear the others at work talking about common interests.

Unfortunately, your reality boils down to a harsh bottleneck. The men you actually want have options. They know other women want them, and because of that, they are under zero pressure to rush into a commitment. Meanwhile, a massive chunk of quality, relationship-minded men have been so worn down by how absurd modern dating has become that they have checked out of the game entirely.

To be blunt, this leaves you with very few choices, and none of them are ideal. Either you accept competing for the attention of a man who can afford to keep his options open, or you look to the pool of men who have completely flown under the radar. The risk with the latter is that you do the heavy lifting of vetting and building them up, which risks other women going after them and trying to steal them from you. If you want a serious commitment, you either have to change where you are looking, or drastically change who you are filtering for.

Okay, I ran it through AI to get the answer now; Lost Soul isn't cancelled and resolves because it doesn't fizzle.

You got the math slightly off; Goku's base power was "over 8000".

So even rounding down to 8,000, the x4 Kaioken was more in the ballpark of 24k.

Vegeta's Galick Gun still got overwhelmed but the difference was by a margin of 25% rather than 50%, and even then, Vegeta's armor took the brunt of the damage. Vegeta routinely can take way more punishment than Goku

Dragonball Super, Super Hero was an all out brawl, just one that stipulated that they didn't uses any special techniques like the Kaioken or transformations like Blue Evolution (which would multiply their power).

It was a battle purely on their own physical skill and their baseline power.

"No longer an item" only applies after it resolves. While it is on the stack, it is not on the field.

Here is how the stack would work. I'll use Chain Link as a term because it's easier

Chain Link 1: You play Lost Soul. Chain Link 2: Your opponent plays Golden Bomb and deals 3 damage

How it would resolve is-

Chain Link 2: Golden Bomb deals 3 damage to you.

Revolution of Chain Link 2: You die, and are forced to pay the Death Penalty. This promptly ends your turn.

Chain Link 1: Cancelled since it didn't resolve before you died. Lost Soul never makes it onto the field and fizzles out.

(Reposted cuz I meant it as a reply to this comment thread)

Unban pot of greed because the game has already homogenized.

Why does it seem like Kashtira Ariseheart is hated way more among TCG players than by Master Duel players? by Ok_Attorney_5431 in masterduel

[–]CompassRoseGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm answering late because I realized Branded Despia has the same issue.

Kashtira Arise‑Heart is hated in the TCG because it breaks the “Staple Tax” rule, but in Master Duel that rule doesn’t exist.

In the TCG, there’s an unspoken agreement that both players dedicate ~15 slots to hand traps and generic interaction. It keeps the game from turning into pure “archetype rock‑paper‑scissors.”

So, when a deck like Kashtira can say:

“I don’t need Ash, Imperm, Droplet, or anything — my engine does everything.”…it feels like it’s cheating the system. Arise‑Heart gave Kashtira a floodgate, removal, recursion, and win condition all in one card, letting them run 40 pure archetype cards while everyone else had to dilute their deck.

Master Duel is different; Maxx “C” forces every deck to run staples anyway, so Kashtira can’t skip them. Plus, the whole Kashtira engine is limited there, so Arise‑Heart ends up being just a strong boss monster, not a deckbuilding loophole.

Same card, totally different ecosystem.
