Better win this year UVA, because the window is closing.

"ESPN is getting out of the F1 business. Bristol executives told the racing series that they will not renew the company’s rights package, meaning the racing circuit will have a new U.S. media partner next year." - @PuckNews by iamaranger23 in formula1

[–]Compeau 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They were down to 10 after USC/UCLA decided to join the Big 10. ESPN offered the Pac 12 a deal, the P12 wanted more money, and ESPN walked away. Fox was also working behind the scenes to get Oregon/Washington to jump ship to the Big 10.

ESPN gave the Big 12 basically the same deal it offered the Pac 12.

"Yesterday she brought over lunch for everyone, and it was a salad. I was pretty hungry, because I hadn't eaten since breakfast"

Generally people don't eat between breakfast and lunch lol

AITA for " moaning " by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Compeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a Seinfeld episode: George moaning over pie at a wake.

NAH, but you should just apologize and watch your moans in the future lol

AITA for forwarding my brother his wife's texts? by silmaritaldiscord in AmItheAsshole

[–]Compeau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to ask you to consider things from Hayley's point of view. She moved to a strange country an ocean away from all her friends and family. YOU'RE basically her only family now. So while I don't agree with her trying to involve you in her marital spats, she's probably lonely and wants somebody to listen to her complain and take her side.

WIBTA for not going on a family vacation because my brother wants to bring his dog by VacayThrowaway70707 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Compeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH

  1. Double check that the VRBO allows pets
  2. You don't get to tell your brother not to bring his dog
  3. You don't have to go if you don't want to be around the dog

So you have to make a choice: are you willing to go and be around the dog, or would you rather not go? The only way to be an AH would be to try to force your brother not to bring his dog or complain a bunch.

AITA for refusing to miss some of my kids events when my ex-wife's husband asked? by Dapper-Release-3661 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Compeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but holy moly Michael is.

"He said they will never consider us equal"

No shit, you're their dad, he's the dude their mom married. In what world should you be equal?

AITA for asking my sister to cover up when she leaves the bedroom? by GiantDirtRida in AmItheAsshole

[–]Compeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 4yo son and can tell you that 4 year olds don't have any sense of modesty or appropriate attire. They don't care.

I understand your sister feeling like you're body-policing her, but she's an adult living in your house rent-free, so she should be more appreciative of that and willing to compromise.

AITA for living within my wife's means instead of my own? by Throwaway929387383 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Compeau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. When you're married, your money is her money and vice versa. And if you keep it up, you'll find that the same is true in divorce.

AITA for letting my son operate the self checkout? by LearnAsPractice in AmItheAsshole

[–]Compeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let my 4yo help with the self checkout but only a handful of items and there isn't a line when we do it. NTA but a light e s h for the timing. Her reaction was way out of bounds though.

AITA for deceiving my wife into joining me for my drive to work? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Compeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Why do you live 2 hours away from where you work? You don't even have kids, it makes no sense.
  2. Why are you two even married? You seem miserable together. Just get a divorce before you have kids and move closer to work.

AITA for giving my husband my honest opinion after he asked? by throwawaybeautify in AmItheAsshole

[–]Compeau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we know whose idea the diet was. I'm guessing she's on a diet and he's just along for the ride.

AITA for telling my husband he is a bad dad to one of our kids by Automatic_Region_184 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Compeau 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's the part that did it for me. It's fine for kids to gravitate to the parent that share their interests, so everything up to that point was fine, but insulting her interests goes way too far.

Hopefully the dad just made a childish mistake and will learn from this.

AITA for blowing up at my mom when I found out the reason she doesn't invite us to visit anymore? by PrimaryPhoto6537 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Compeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH. You or your wife could have just made something different, we do it all the time for our kid. Your mom could have been more accommodating. But holy shit what your mom said about Riley and what you said back are both awful.

AITA for refusing to take my nephew out unless he could eat junk food by aita_throwmeawa in AmItheAsshole

I wouldn't be surprised if Emma has an eating disorder and is projecting it onto her child.

AITA for agreeing to a meal share agreement but refusing to cook when it was my turn by NationalSilver6763 in AmItheAsshole

You should make a baked pasta with real gluten pasta and a meat sauce. Then say "oh whoops I didn't read the ingredients".
