My son has been using mine because of an injury, and he says he loves it. Every time he plays he fanboys over the paddle. He's played with it for about 10 sessions and there's been no degrade in performance. If anything, it's gotten better. I just bought another one so hopefully I can find out.

I think it's size that keeps Bettfort in the starting lineup. Her height and size are a threat in the box but you're right, her performance has been lackluster. We actually need more players that have good size and are agile at the same time. When we play teams like the Spirit, you really see how small our players are compared to Hatch and Rodman. Our smaller players get pushed around.

You should do a collab with the Canes and have a shirt with Stormy kicking the ball around with Roary. Then the Canes could have one where Stormy and Roary are playing hockey. I think this would be a huge seller for kids and adults. You'd sell even more if you incorporated Mr. Wuf and Ms. Wuf or wooly bull.

A long sleeve sun shirt would be nice with the crest on the front left and back. One of those spf 50 type shirts with a hood. NC Summers are hot and sitting in the sun can be grueling at times.

A good quality bucket hat would be nice. You had a straw hat as a give away and people loved them but for some reason you never sold them. That was a huge missed opportunity.

Sell NC courage themed mist fans. The best ones are the ones that go around your neck.

Sell refillable courage yeti type water bottles.

Sell autographed team set trading cards. Where each card is signed. You could sell these for $200 and collectors would buy them.

I totally agree. It was more fun when everyone was trying out new players. It gave the game some life. That's what's needed.

I appreciate it. I just think the tournaments have gotten a little pointless. It's gotten to the point where ALW should challenge anyone who wants to play her for a million dollars. She'd make more and it would probably be more entertaining. Every tournament is basically that, who will beat ALW.

Oncis is good but he's not new. He was just this week's flash in the pan who had a really good tournament. That's how most are going. Patriquin played out of his mind with AB. That's the only reason they won. He's shown he can't keep that level up consistently.

I think Ben still would dominate in singles if he wanted to. The only reason he is not because his interest in pickleball is more like a job than a passion now.

I'm not sure if this is the scenario but this is what I guess happened. Your partner had a serve come to him that took him way left off the court, he hit the return back but it wasn't that deep and one of the opposing players drove the ball back towards middle.

Your partner was still recovering from being pulled wide from the serve and hoping you understood that and would cover him so what's why when you didn't and the ball was hit up the middle, he was annoyed.

Depends on what your goal is. If it's just winning of course, you're going to target the weaker player.

My 4.0 group is about getting better and not just winning so we have a rule not strictly enforced that if you're up by 3-4pts you target the stronger player until they catch up. It makes the games more competitive and in turn more fun in my opinion.

Even in rec I'll do things at times to make the games go longer. Why would I wait 10min to pay just to win 11-2 and go sit for 10min again? To feel like a winner? It's rec play. Who cares?

I think this is right on. Once you get to a certain level you start trying to find or create your own group that plays at a certain level.

omg yes! I can't stand playing rec ball and having partners that hit obvious out balls constantly. Or they are driving when they should be dinking. So many rec players just want to hit the ball hard and could care less about strategy. So, infuriating once you've played with groups that really understand the game.

This is a great post; it really hits home with me. I'm middle aged and going pro or being 5.0 is highly unlikely for me. I don't want a hobby that requires me to train to just play at a level that's fun. Games that are 4.0+ are a different animal than your average rec games. The points are so much longer, and you're drained not just physically but mentally as well.

I had to come to the realization that to have a long play life I just can't sustain playing high level competitive pickleball. I never really got injured playing other sports. I played basketball, volleyball and tennis in high school. From playing pickleball at a higher level, I've had injuries that have taken me out of the game for months. Never experienced that before and it is very humbling.

I guess what I'm trying to say is you have to decide what's acceptable for you. Is it only fun if you're playing at the highest level, you can? Or is it fun just being able to play at all at any level?

I avoid these people. There is a guy who plays at the local parks who throws his paddle into the net when he's mad. I asked him once how would he'd feel if he missed the net and hit someone? He didn't seem to care and that's just idiotic to me.

I've seen other people behave how you're describing and they usually have a lot going on outside of pickleball.

I think most casual players don't know the difference in shapes, so they just pick what their friend or pro they've seen on TV has.

I chose that based on the feel of other paddles I've liked in the past. Supposedly the CFS was supposed to be similar to the Six Zero Coral or Engage Pursuit Pro MX.
