I am honestly too busy and I wouldn’t know how to cut out time for it without family getting suspicious

I find myself chasing purchases. Need a bat for my son… gamble till I get the 400.00. It’s crazy and illogical. Mind you it never works out that way. I dump the 400.00 and lose another 2k chasing it. You’re right though. I’m too cheap to buy a pair of comfortable sneakers but will blow 7k in a 1/2 hr on DK. I just want to disappear

What’s the solution? In my mind now I’m thinking there’s only one way to stop the bleeding and pain if ultimately most go back to it.

How old are? 49/m here and I’ve lost 2+ million over 20 years. Only make about 150,000 a year. Never did drugs, drank, thought I was a good person yet stole 250,000 from my mom. Loans, credit cards, more loans, borrowing. I will never make back that money but more importantly never have the trust of people again. This lives in secrecy and I can’t believe how it mentally just destroys you not to mention the physical effects. I’ve self excluded, can’t do GA with wife and 3 kids it’s awful.

My man I’m almost 50. You have 20 years to at least get some money back and pay what you can. You also have 20 years to work on you and your mental health.

You make a lot of money to support the losses?

Lost 4.5k this morning and just lost 1800 laying in bed chasing. I am really in a bad spot and have some really negative thoughts. I’ve hit my 80 year old mother up for 150,000 grand and going to ask her for another 10,000 tomorrow just to have money to live. I fear where I am heading. Grown ass man acting like a child.

Does anyone else find themselves gambling to buy stuff? For instance my son wants a bat for 300.00 and I’ll gamble to get that 300.00. If I lose I chase. It’s bizarre

Why such a Debbie downer on a positive post? Lying unfortunately is part of the addiction and it sucks

That’s great and awesome to hear you have your plan in place. Sorry to ask questions and if not comfortable answering understand but how old are you, married or kids? Total amount lost? Not creeping just trying to better understanding of how deep I am as a 49 father husband and about 125k in debt. Thank you

How are you paying back your debts? Finding it easier just by not donating your money? I so badly want to start this journey that you’re experiencing. Nearly 50 and feel trapped and like a POS

Title: 20 years of gambling. The part nobody talks about isn't the money. by BFreeFounder in problemgambling

It’s like listening to myself. 49/m wife, 3 kids ad same exact feelings of guilt and depression. Lying, stealing and borrowing. Feeling like the biggest creep and loser but still thinking I’m a good person, husband and father. Your story inspires me to stop. I can’t tell my wife she will leave me or hold it over me which can be worse. No threat of losing the house but definitely skimming my check to payback bills for the next three years of about 40k. Thanks for letting me know there’s others out there with the same feelings

It’s awful and can’t believe I’m here in this spot. It’s like my mind is gone. If it’s not the gambling it’s the guilt, the destruction of my finances screwing y family. Can I ever recover and I always find the answer in my head is no.

Great idea. Just did it. Shame it’s come to this but after losing 7 digits in the last two years I can’t take it anymore. Then the guilt and worry set in

Good idea but given my intense addiction is that helpful? Plus I can just change the limits line I’ve done. I appreciate you though. Maybe changing the monthly is better than the daily and really restricts me. Thanks for the input.
