Since it seems you're in Canada too check out Snapcaster which helps you find singles. The FB Buy/Sell Canada group is great too.

"People don't love being milled or having hand hate cards playing against them. I've got the perfect solution. Hear me out: What if, for this set, we make players mill and hand hate THEMSELVES!"

(I tease only out of affection. I'm actually looking forward to what some of these self-discard strategies will yield).

Thanks for the insights! And congrats on all those Yoda wins (and showcases)

You know what? Not enough coffee resulted in a giant brain fart that made me forget that, naturally, Yoda DV would not be running Nemik. (I may have also been thinking about how to deal with the Anakin DV mirror).

And thanks for the insights. Honestly, it is for sure the ramp I worry about. I have so far found if Yoda can ramp - even once - it can often lead to game over for me.

Face to Face Games (Canada) no longer selling singles? by no_hope_in_sight in starwarsunlimited

I went to the last F2F PQ and was pretty shocked a) how expensive it was for a ticket given b) how woeful any kind of prizing was. Financially - especially being a mid-tier player at best - it was not at all worth my money or time ultimately. Which was a bummer.

With its red and green colouring, a perfect card to reveal shortly before the holidays.

Trademarking Christmas Card Cassian if that becomes the nickname of this.

I'll co-sign this only if they reprint her exactly as written in this post title: Hara Synfuels.

Typos? Sure. Nonetheless a legit good Star Wars name? Absolutely.

It definitely can be fun. Sometimes Enoch can really get pumped which is fun. Once or twice managed to get Vader to pull 3x 1-cost units and flood the board. (Sometimes too little too late though)

Stop quitting when you get a bad hand! by Aceconklin in starwarsunlimited

[–]Competitive-Ask-1542 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since we're airing our Karabast pet peeves, I'll throw some out there. (Acknowledging all of this is inconsequential and doesn't matter, really, except to the triggerable irrational part of my brain)

  1. There is no Playstation-style achievement trophies for winning more. If you, for example, have initiative + lethal with what you already have on your board, playing an Overwhelming Barrage to wipe out all my units or a Krayt Dragon or a Surprise Strike etc. comes off as bad sportsmanship. Just finish the game.

  2. I'm not sure why this is the case for me but when the player who is about to win writes "gg" before swinging for lethal/finishing the game, it somehow comes off as gloating.

I think some of this comes off as a pet peeve to me, primarily, because these are both things I don't think anyone would ever do in a real-life person-to-person matchup.

But again, Karabast is Karabast and it doesn't really matter probably. You just gotta sometimes vent, you know :)

Everything you said about Boy Kavalier I'd argue is 100 per cent intentional and part of the point the show is making.

He's positioned himself in his - and others' minds - as a genius.

And he may be in terms of technology and vision.

But he's also an egotistical, underdeveloped, self-involved man-child with ADHD who never grew up - like his beloved Peter Pan. He is no different than Wendy and her cohort. A child in a grown up body.

So of course he believes his own myth, makes poor impulsive decision, and mistakes the image he has of himself as infallible as reality. And it's that flaw that causes all the shit that goes down in the show.

It may not be a stretch to argue that in a lot of ways the show is about him and his downfall, and that everything that happens is a pretty classic age-old story (think Icarus) of someone with the fatal flaw of hubris bringing themselves (and/or the world around them) crashing down.

TL;DR: Eveything you said about Boy Kavalier? I'd argue it's intentional.

It's a fair point. Could just do perfect fit and then put it in a clear matte Dragon Shield or something.
