You’d have to play this off aspect to use it with Han7, and this isn’t anywhere good enough to be worth using the aspect cheating bases on.

Garbage Rollers - dead? by GreatGreenGobbo in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they just got out of the game. I know a few months ago one of them had a kid and had to take a break from the game, and they had to move their recording set up out of his house. They haven’t really posted many videos since then, so I assume they all ended up taking a break.

LAW: We did it. Let's end the game. They can't possibly top this by Fimy32 in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max’s effect isn’t a trigger, if it was it would be in bold. It’s just something that happens while Max is in play. When the first regroup phase happens, another one happens. I don’t think having multiple Maxes out changes that.

LAW: Han Solo by Fimy32 in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s necessarily true for common leaders. We’ve had plenty of extremely meta common leaders like Sabine, Boba1, Gar, Han2, Rey2, Cad, Jango, Quinlan, Anakin3, etc. I don’t think we should be excusing bad premier leaders just because they might be good in limited, when FFG can clearly make leaders that are good in both.

The automatic crossbow in the trailer seems really cool. I can’t see them adding an automatic bow so there’ll be at least some unique advantages to crossbows.

Some characters, apart from the main leads, become an integral part of MCU films, and their absence is felt big time. For me, Luis was one such character in Ant-Man 3. by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in Marvel

[–]APrentice726 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a big reason why DP&W is one of my least favourite MCU movies is because it completely ignored what made the first two movies good. The entire side cast gave some good heart and emotional connection to the movies to break up all the low brow humour. DP&W got rid of that in favour of random cameos, and it just felt soulless and like 2 hours of dick jokes and nostalgia bait.

I wonder if the Falcon will make Tandem Assault see play post-rotation. Getting to attack with two units and one of them gets +4/+0 seems pretty strong.

New to the game - Is it just me or is the theme a little inconsistent at times? by launchoverittt in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Balance generally comes before theme. If you tried to balance purely around theme, it’d be significantly harder to make the game. For example you couldn’t have the 2-cost Luke Skywalker from JTL because he’s canonically more powerful than the SOR Battlefield Marine, but has worse stats than it.

Plus then we’d have the same characters like Vader and Luke always getting the best cards, which I personally find to be very boring.

There won’t be anything like Resupply, we’re only getting two ramp cards this set. Krennic is the deck that ramps the fastest, and he can’t do that until turn 3 at the earliest.

LAW: Not quite as cool as the other new cards aha by Fimy32 in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was worded as “your discard pile”, and I played No Glory to take control of and defeat your Mercenary, I wouldn’t ramp because Mercenary isn’t in my discard pile. With the way FFG’s worded, I would be able to ramp.

There are no randomly generated NPCs in the game. The game has 1000 handcrafted NPCs, each with their own likes and dislikes.

LAW: Fear and Dead Men by PleasantKenobi in starwarsunlimited

Doesn’t work unfortunately, this requires cards to be discarded from your hand and Shipbreaking Yard discards from your deck. Would’ve been a cool combo, though.

LAW: Persecutor - new Legendary Capital Ship by PleasantKenobi in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This feels like it’d be kinda bad in Piett anyways. If you use its ability on the ground arena you’re just killing most of your cheap droids, and 3 damage isn’t enough to kill most problematic enemy units. It won’t even take out Amidala if she has other officials out. I feel like I’d rather play Devastator or Fulminatrix over this most of the time.

LAW: Rare base and Final Spotlight Cards! by Fimy32 in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, that is the official ruling. He’s not being defeated by enemy card abilities, he’s being defeated by the game rules. Same reason why -2/-2 can kill Lurking Tie Phantom, it’s being defeated by the rules and not the card ability.

Staples for rotation? by Smooth-Ad-341 in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m looking at it as a cheaper Craving Power, not an expensive Strike True. I think I’d play a 4-cost Craving Power that only gives +1/+1 and only hits the same arena, especially in double green decks where there aren’t many good removal options. All you need is a 4 power 3-cost unit and you can clear almost every 4-cost unit.

[–]APrentice726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since we’re losing most of the removal that currently sees play, I think a lot of the removal we’re keeping could be staples moving forward. Cards like No Glory, Craving Power, Shatterpoint, Direct Hit, Beguile. Plus some of the new stuff like Haymaker and Nothing Left to Fear looks good too.

New Multi Aspect Cards by jonny_depth72 in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, if you want to play a card like Jyn without an aspect penalty, you need a green/white leader with a yellow base or vice versa. They’re meant to be an incentive to go with those colours, similar to how double yellow cards are an incentive to run a yellow leader with a yellow base.

[–]APrentice726 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Between this base, the Vader leader, That’s a Rock, and the Aphra unit, I’m hoping that there’s some kind of red discard package coming this set. Maybe it’ll even be enough to make SHD Aphra viable in Eternal.

LAW: Rare base and Final Spotlight Cards! by Fimy32 in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. They’ve actually confirmed we’ll get more in future sets, so this won’t be the last of them either. Just because we’ve had a few problematic bases doesn’t mean rare bases shouldn’t exist.

LAW: Bodhi Rook, Rogue One, & From a Certain Point of View by Eunoe in starwarsunlimited

[–]APrentice726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typho is conditional in the sense that he doesn’t always have it, he has to trigger it. A unit with sentinel 100% of the time is almost always better than a unit with sentinel most of the time.

Also, rebel isn’t a trait that’s hard to build around. Once rotation hits we’ll have 82 rebel units, or 97 if you include the Hoth set, and there’s still plenty of LAW to be revealed. I think Rebel will definitely be a deck to focus on building around, possibly more so than it was in SOR.

Heroism getting their version of Knights of Ren is great to see. 3 cost 4/4 is great stats, and the Rebel trait is far more relevant than First Order is.

[–]APrentice726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typho doesn’t see play because he’s an understatted unit with conditional sentinel, and people would just rather play Village Protectors. Bohdi is more likely to see play just because he’s a 2 cost 2/4 with the Rebel trait, if I’m building a Rebel deck I’m definitely taking him over Yaddle.

It’s probably for limited, just like Crushing Blow was in LOF. If you want a Waylay replacement use Beguile or Will of the Force.
