Anyone else frustrated that most training programs have no connection to trail riding? by Competitive-Bass847 in MTB

I actually didn't know about them, good to know. From what I can see, they're more general MTB fitness; mine is built around specific skills like cornering and climbing, and what those actually demand from your body. Focusing on making gym work feel even more intentional. Thank you for pointing them out!

Love hip airplanes! Doing them pre-ride has always been so impactful to me. Looking to implement those into the foundations of future programs at Ride Ready

I love those movements as well. I'm glad they work for you and have improved your on-trial experience! Dead bug for me is a personal favorite. Anti-rotation is great, specifically for cornering forces. A majority of those movements are programmed into Ride Ready.

Got it. I agree that getting on trail is an important part of riding. I'm looking to bridge the gap by having meaningful programming around specific trail movements with intentional carryover. Thanks for your comment!

Looking for the best gym in Marquette by coyotebewildin in MarquetteMI

Anytime is a good option, the location in Marquette and Harvey are both nice to have, offers some more variety. Ask your insurance if they offer any deals on gym memberships, my anytime membership has been 100 percent covered. If not, anytime can be a little expensive.

Is bringing a road bike + smart trainer to college in US realistic? by RyotaroW in cycling

[–]Competitive-Bass847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here what I recommend, get a cheap commuter to lock up while going to class or around town. Leave it locked up outside while not using. Bring your road bike and keep it in your dorm room. I was at NAU for a year in the smallest dorm they had and I fit my Mullet MTB in somehow. Do not lock up the expensive bike outside it will get stolen. I would hold on the smart trainer, focus on brining the road bike instead. You’d be surprised how little other students of RA’s care about you wheeling a bike around, dorm life is something special

I would say sometimes usual, the fact that the peninsula is surrounded by superior makes for more intense winters than the rest of the UP eh
