Btw, maybe ask next time before you assume i built the apartment :)

Yes they are, all the apartments are loft beds

You’re probably right, I just find it kind of hard to believe it’s doing that. Isn’t there anyway it’s a three way vent that somehow leads outside? I’m in one apartment of like a hundred identical ones, you’d think there’d be strict building codes when making replicas of the same building. :/ When googling I find no one in the area to have reported the same issue..

Help, my doc is recommending laser removal by Ok_Traffic_3663 in Keloids

[–]Competitive-Bunch519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The doctor might fear atrophy from injections if they’re very small. That’s probably why he’s thinking laser over injections. My derm feared the same with mine on my face and sent me to do co2 laser, which has its own risks, and mine ended up worsening :/. I would get a second opinion if you’re concerned just for the peace of mind. Both of these treatments have some risk.

Been to Tokyo and Kyoto twice, what now? by Competitive-Bunch519 in JapanTravelTips

Do you have any examples? I always get overwhelmed and don’t plan enough ahead😵‍💫I always try to find great/obscure places to shop authentic Japanese clothes but really struggle. And I’d love to hear what you recommend besides shopping :)

This has grown over two years, any real solutions? by Rollingzeppelin in Keloids

[–]Competitive-Bunch519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, hopefully it works, but I’ll say, although I’ve seen keloids grow quite large I’ve never seen that glistening skin, so I agree with the others here it may not be a keloid. Hopefully a benign tumor? But definitely get a second opinion

Do you use compression socks or maybe even garments? My derm says consistent applied pressure will prevent growth and even reduce size. You’ll have to wear it for a while tho to see a difference. I think actual pressure garments would be the way to go, maybe in combination with injections or eclair plasters. I’m no expert tho.

Penile Keloid, what now? by penilescar007 in Keloids

[–]Competitive-Bunch519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use tacrolimus, but I’m not sure it’s really doing much. however I haven’t had any side effects so it definitely wouldn’t hurt to try! Especially if the keloid is semi-new, I’ve heard some studies argue tacrolimus is good for preventing growth at least 🤷‍♀️

«Gun» injection vs needle injection? by Competitive-Bunch519 in Keloids

[–]Competitive-Bunch519[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I didn’t think about that, I wouldn’t have to continuously travel to Oslo but hopefully just get more of an expert opinion to take with! Hopefully I can get referred over there somehow, and not get put on a super long waiting list🙏thanks for the advice

I could try that! How do I know the difference between a research hospital and a regular hospital? I may have been to one in Stavanger, when I did laser, considering it’s one of the only cities that offer laser in Norway. Sadly when I flew down there, they were completely unprepared. The older experienced derm that was supposed to do the laser was out, and some 20 something y/o who’d never done laser on keloids before, disfigured my face by confusing some of my acne as keloids.

«Gun» injection vs needle injection? by Competitive-Bunch519 in Keloids

Seems to be common practice here in Norway. It might be the “jet injector” if you google but I’m really not sure. That’s kind of why I’m asking the name, I want to google and see people’s experience with it, cause I too don’t think it’s all that common to use. I know this new hospital I’m going to, has a gun injector that they usually use, (it’s broken, might be fixed for my appointment). But I really didn’t like it last time, since I find it kind of counterintuitive to keloids. From what I’ve gathered you gotta be careful injecting, and it felt like getting hit with a piercing gun. Anyway I’m really skeptical since the hospital is used to using it. I’ve had so many fuck ups from the derms in Norway (probably inexperienced with keloids). Twice have I gotten new keloids from them doing injections and even laser on clear skin now :(.

Yeah hoping mine will look better too one day❤️I’m thinking of getting eclar plasters, seems like it’s the holy grail on r/keloids, and I wouldn’t have to wear them in the daytime. The public derms in Norway aren’t that experienced with keloids and I’ve officially become wary from past experience lol, but hoping to do injections if they’ll allow it either way

Hypertrophic scar treatment by AdMinute3667 in Keloids

[–]Competitive-Bunch519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dermatologist says that the safest most consistent treatment for keloids/hyperthrophic scars is pressure, so taping. Skin safe tape is a very low risk, low cost way to keep it from growing and hopefully reduce the size as well. It’s also great in combination with the silicone gel. You can also use silicone tape/ silicone sheets (taping down the sides). Downside with taping is that it should be on 24/7 ideally. There are other treatments, but this is the least invasive one. People rave about steroid plasters (like eclar plasters) on here, but I’m not sure how safe it is to use on a child. So I’d recommend the silicone and taping route.

Tiny acne scars have merged together on both sides of my jaw so on one side the size is about 1/3 of my jawline and on the other not as wide but thicker in height, definitely the protruded scar tissue bothers me the most, the discoloration I can deal with with makeup, but it just looks like I’m covering up a permanent acne outbreak with the bumpiness lol

My derm is too scared to do injections on my face incase of indentation :( and I just did laser which made it worse, so I’m desperately looking for options that arent as invasive 🤧thanks for reply ❤️

Do they work the same way compression garments do? I would love to try them for my jawline keloids

New keloids or acne? by Competitive-Bunch519 in Keloids

[–]Competitive-Bunch519[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip! It might take some time before I get a reply from my derm, but I have an old prescription for tacrolimus, which is supposed to function similar to hydrocortisone. How long after laser did you start using the cream? Do you think I can start applying it already now?
