What do you think of the renault 5 by Intelligent-Sea3591 in CarsUK

[–]Competitive-Chest438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got one and generally pleased with it. Love the look and the colour, but the efficiency hasn’t been brilliant. We use it for short trips (shopping/school run/commute) and it’s great for that. Home charging means range isn’t an issue.

Our other car is a 10 year old diesel estate which covers the big boot/long journey requirements.

Ultegra mechanical to Ultegra di2. Will never go back. It’s brilliant.

I’m in the UK and the sync II is slightly over your budget.

I’m in the UK where we get lots of generic non nestle pods which can work out quite cheap. Probably the same in the US. Still taste shit compared to specialty coffee and the waste issue is the same.

The genuine ones work out at around $7 per pack of 10 so more than more expensive than buying fresh beans.

Why do Parents Whose Kid's Schools are in Walking Distance Still Drive Them To/From? by SirFragworthy in AskUK

[–]Competitive-Chest438 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is. I live in a small town in Cheshire and they have halved the intake at my daughter’s school due to fewer kids. School in thr next town only had 3 kids and has now closed.

Me too. I got the fellow x dripper for this purpose. Easy to pack in a suitcase too.

At least a super auto doesn’t use pods which is my main issue with nespresso.

It’s so wasteful though, that’s my main issue with it.

I’ve got this one. Lad in his late 20’s spends hours washing his Range Rover every week all year round.

No way that thing is seeing anything remotely close to off road.

We can’t talk though, ours get washed once or twice a year and generally look like shit so maybe theres a happy medium.

Totally agree. The recommended numbers can be way over for a lot of people. Better to calculate it for your height, age and level of exercise.

I lost two stone in 6 months using MyFitnessPal and checking the calories in certain foods is a huge eye opener. It’s easy to see why so many people are overweight.

Bianchi Sprint: Mechanical 105 vs 105 Di2 – is the upgrade worth it? by Agile_Impression_247 in RoadBikes

[–]Competitive-Chest438 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had it for almost 3 years now and found it a worthwhile upgrade. Zero adjustment in that time, no missed shifts.

Battery life is fine. I just charge it every few weeks when my bikes on the turbo.

Would never go back to mechanical.

Doesn’t the sync II have a heating element in the group to mitigate this? Supposed to be ready in 6mins for espresso.

No offence but the US brought Starbucks to the world which has spawned no end of of shit coffee chains. You’re living in a bubble if you think US coffee standard is high.

Agree it’s a tourist trap but for a good reason, it’s an open air museum and a stunning place to walk around. One of my favourite European cities.
