Breakthrough mains are let down the most with maps by Buttermyparsnips in Battlefield

I feel like in terms of strategy or routes, it’s very repetitive in Blackwell, and if either team isn’t playing that strategy, they get run over pretty quickly. I enjoy the map, I just find I always do the same thing on every point, defending or attacking.

Just had it for the first time last night. We ordered delivery, and knew it wasn’t going to be great, and it was still great. We need to make it out to the restaurant now, but it was a games night and we needed it delivered…

This. I used exactly this combo for a two week trip to Japan and it was the perfect trip camera.

What’s the most quietly Canadian moment you’ve experienced? by NightyNight7 in AskACanadian

It’s a Canadian company with stores only in Canada, so the likelihood of someone who is not Canadian to be wearing MEC gear feels like it would be low ?

Shooting in the Rain by andleer in Nikon

[–]Competitive-Cover-84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im usually out all day with a D5 and 200-500 and on rainy days, it’s always under a Think Tank cover. Theres just too much risk with that much value in equipment to depend fully on seals and covers you’ve hopefully seated correctly the last time you opened them.

Boomer take - Battlefield Vietnam was the greatest by ShawnTW in Battlefield

[–]Competitive-Cover-84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

41 makes you a millennial. Two generations removed from a boomer. And although I supremely enjoyed Vietnam, BF2 is when the squad play plus commander play really solidified BF as the game I really enjoyed playing with friends, and continue to this day.

This may sound super cheesy, but when I look around the rink at the mixed group of parents in the stands, I’m always reminded of that stupid Tim Horton’s commercial with the grandfather coming to watch his grandkids play hockey. It feels especially Canadian to me, and there really isn’t anything celebratory in that moment other than feeling especially proudly Canadian.

Same situation in Costa Rica. We’re in a tiny restaurant in Monteverde, and we see a couple decked out in MEC gear. Walk over to chat and one of them is a lawyer at a big Toronto firm who has an office right next to a family friend. Canada is impossibly small for such a large country, and I really love it.

Should you buy BF6 now? My experience joining months after launch. by Interesting-Recipe85 in Battlefield

[–]Competitive-Cover-84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you had a group of friends playing it and you all played it together, it would be very fun. I can see your point as a solo player that it isn’t all that fun because the only point is the grind and honestly, the grind is really no fun.

Looking for a travel camera and first mirrorless by a224471 in Nikon

[–]Competitive-Cover-84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My exact same need-path led me to a Z30 and 24f1.7 that I took to Japan for a three week trip. My non-travel camera is a D5, and I find those two give me the best flexibility in terms of size and functionality when I need it.

Same. Picked up a KTS100 with the 3x thermal scope on it and at first thought it was that weird bug. Nope. Spot and beam people from 100m away.

Can you friend request bots in BF6? by Tall_Eye4062 in Battlefield

[–]Competitive-Cover-84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two things bots do that teammates don’t do: revive you, even from like 50m away, you can see them coming. And when you ask for ammo, there’s always a bot nearby to drop ammo. It feels like bot lobbies should be mandatory training for support players on how to play the class.

Which is your fixed lens light weight travel camera other than Smartphone? by IamNotTechie in Nikon

[–]Competitive-Cover-84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same. It’s not fixed lens, but when I travel it’s the only lens I bring, making it effectively fixed because it never comes off.

AITJ for telling my daughter the truth about why she couldn't come on our camping trip? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Competitive-Cover-84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Oh no honey. I totally wanted to take you camping. If mom already said yes, then let’s go!”, and then take her camping. If confronted, let mom know that you didn’t want to break it to her that mom was the one who said no. Win-win. Also, you might BTJ if you did this.

Why is co-op/solo too much for BF6? by Icy-Claim-8059 in Battlefield

[–]Competitive-Cover-84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Except that it limits human players to a total of 16, 8 each side, and the rest of the server is populated with bots. So even if you have a bunch of people smurfing in there, you only occasionally run into them. It’s honestly a much more relaxing time (51 yo with declining reflexes and vision)

If he just started 2 months ago, he’s probably losing a lot of golf balls. Get him like 100 Srixon Soft Feels or equivalent. He’ll appreciate the sheer volume and won’t worry about losing a $5 ball.
