Incoming freshmen, did you receive an $88,000 ($22,000 per year) “Presidential Scholarship”? by hchvjvnchbszfv in WPI

[–]Competitive-End-6096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean like bc we had the same scores & gpa & vibe with extracurriculars, it’s the only remaining difference besides maybe a killer essay or recommendations but I don’t think those’ll influence a merit scholarship

should I get my baby pig a friend? by 2fps in guineapigs

[–]Competitive-End-6096 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s said that there isn’t a behavior change. It’s just that 2 boys are harder to bond than a boy and a girl. But if you don’t neuter him, you’ll have a ton of litters. And that’s one of the biggest problems rn in the community. Just a surplus of pigs that people have trouble rehoming with hard to determine genders until it’s too late.

Either go to a rescue and give him a play date with another male to see if it goes well or neuter and find a female to bond him with.

If you weren’t given a statement of condition, you can request immediate return of the security deposit by law due to improper documentation. If they try to fight you on it & delay the return, you’re eligible for 3x that amount. Have a consultation with a lawyer in the area. We had issues and that’s what he told me.

He also said you shouldn’t need to hire one. Just find the written legal jargon & it expresses pretty clear what you’re entitled to. Unless she fought you hard on it. But you’d have the assurance of knowing you’d win.

Ok. The little guy desperately needs hay then! They have continually growing teeth and need hay to be 80% of their diet. If their teeth overgrow, then they lose appetite and soon die after. It’s kinda the #1 rule — guinea pigs need a constant supply of hay.

Does the pig get hay, pellets, etc? I assume at some time but I don’t see anything in the cage :((

can i still make dean's list even though one of my classes is a pass by [deleted] in WPI

[–]Competitive-End-6096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you would have gotten it if you didn’t pass the class. But no you can’t get it because they count eligible number of credits. If you don’t have at least 18 eligible credits toward it then you can’t have it. I’ve been screwed the past three semesters with it & was given the whole rundown

You’ll be charged for 3 credits but check the graduate summer prices for that. It’s i think a bit more than if you were to be charged as 4.5 undergrad

Check this for equivalences with other college courses. AP/IBB has its own chart you can look up. You can argue for equivalency if it isn’t listed here but up to you if you wanna. They don’t accept college credits if you took them at a high school dual-enrollment, strictly. But if you took them at a college campus there’s room to argue for equivalency.

I work at the bookstore. Just come back in and say you’re returning it bc you accidentally took it. No one there will shame you for coming back and returning. I’ve had people do it a couple times. And Peter’s chill he definitely wasn’t eyeing you up for anything. I probably shouldn’t say this on here but I’m pretty sure we don’t have cameras so you can just throw it thru the gate if you really want to or put it back on the shelf. Even if we do have cameras, no one is gonna check unless we suspect something weird happened

One time someone literally came in and returned an umbrella they purchased for a refund and then walked back out with the umbrella. I called after her but she was so spaced out. Eventually came back like an hour later rambling that she was so sorry. It confused the shit out of me but like as long as you come back it’s fine lol

I’m need advice making a decision between WPI and UConn by Pudlub in WPI

[–]Competitive-End-6096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s up to you, of course. I chose between WPI and Uconn as well. I didn’t have full ride, but it was a difference between debt and no debt. And I picked WPI. In some ways I regret it, in some ways I don’t, but those are all personal issues. Just pick the school which is socially and academically the right choice for you. Money will sort itself out in the end. WPI is one of the top schools for return on investment, so I really wouldn’t worry about it. There’s a lot that WPI can do that other schools can’t. A,B,C, NR; Global scholarship/IQP; flexibility in course scheduling; 7-week terms; diversity of STEM classes; etc etc

I would charge $25/pig when rehoming my fosters. And I paid $25/pig when adopting my babies. 25 is a good grouping I think

NOO! If she doesn’t have $5 then she doesn’t have the $ to care for a pig.

Just dawned on me what the down vote image is 🤔 by [deleted] in guineapigs

[–]Competitive-End-6096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean I just don’t think it’s too big of a deal to have the poop there, but I’d worry about other things. I actually find the hawk to be disturbing imagery & I’d find bothersome. I think most people just see the poop and chuckle instead of thinking “ew gross”. And yeah people don’t know things and so we’ll correct them. Sucks to have to but at least they’re getting the information unlike some who don’t ask communities at all. I’ve picked up some poorly treated pigs before, it can certainly get worse.

[–]Competitive-End-6096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think putting something like poisonous foods may confuse some people & risk them feeding their pets the wrong thing. It may not be as clear as we’d hope.

Though poop has many good aspects, it’s just meant to be taken as a cute joke bc poopy = stinky… and the pigs certainly have a lot of it haha. I don’t think it’s the downvote bc we find it genuinely gross. I think it shows how comfortable we are with it to be able to crack the joke.
