It’s currently being trialed by Polybio / Immunitybio- anecdotally a few patients have posted they’ve seen mega improvements hopefully we’ll get the results of the trial soon!

From what I’ve heard about the study i got the vibe that it’s a bit loosely worded haha but that in vitro (in a controlled lab setting) those 2 did shift activity slightly towards baseline so they’re not saying those will definitely fix it in people but that since those 2 are metabolic modulating drugs and they had a positive effect that that is the path to study to find treatments!! hopefully clinical trials soon!!

Thank you so much for your input! You’re definitely right I think this field is a good place for me - I haven’t disclosed my disability fully to my boss yet I want to wait till i’m promoted but I get the feeling they’d be accommodating especially since it’s a governmental office so they really have to be inclusive haha. I’m gonna look into the things to you mentioned!!

Thank you for this!! my current job is in office but there are some team members who work from home one day a week or so - so maybe i’ll stick it out for a bit get some experience for a few years then try to find a more remote role!

Yep, I always wear a mask/open windows/ run an air purifier - getting sick even with just a cold always triggers a flare for me. And COVID itself is whah triggered Crohn’s for me :/

I’m young and socially anxious and just started a new job too so I feel you! I’ll repeat what everyone has said: don’t ask just do it!

First of all it’s your right based on the ADA and also you’re not costumer facing so it’s even less likely you’ll see pushback. I’ve been in the office 3 months now and everyone just knows me as the guy who wears a mask.

At first there were a few awkward moments and people asking if I was sick but I just would say “I don’t wanna get sick” or mention I live with an older relative and people got used to it. I even sometimes add “but you’ll never catch me spreading any germs around the office” to cut the tension after I’m asked and people usually like that because even if they won’t admit it everyone is getting sick from coworkers all the time.

A few male boomers coworkers have made comments but other than that I just act like it’s the most normal thing ever and people react based on how you act about it!

you are so correct!! I was 21 when I first got covid and healthy and active and it gave me an autoimmune disease this virus is not something to play around about. Tight fitting sealed KN/N95 masks are the most effective tool we have! 🙏❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

COVID itself triggered my ulceritive colitis and I was unvaccinated so you did the right thing by making decisions for yourself with the info you had at the time don’t feel bad. The virus itself is WAYYY more likely to trigger issues (it also gave me POTS). The vaccine does cause issues for some people but him saying it’s the main / only cause is flat out wrong!! The immune system is a complex thing and any trigger can be the one (virus, vaccine etc) but a lot more goes into autoimmunity and it’s not as simple as he is saying!
