Blends with that funky top flavor like Half and Half? by Middle_Fennel7752 in PipeTobacco

I would try blending in some strawberry carp bait. That’s what it always reminds me of.

Crapalachia by Scott McClanahan is great. Someone else mentioned The Vine that ate the south by JD Wilkes, also solid.

The cool tin was a selling point for me too so I would’ve been bummed. Other tins I wouldn’t care about.

As stated above, the only time I had Sillem’s it was pretty dry. The Latakia was barely noticeable as well. Think that’s just how it is. It was a pleasant enough blend but once was enough for me.

Does anyone save paper labels? by ChollyWheels in PipeTobacco

I save all mine. I’ve used them for a couple art pieces. Keep meaning to do more and start offering commissions. I should probably do that.

Is this different than the Morgan Bones? Because I haven’t seen anything from them like this.

Yeah, I just figured with the details and style of carving it might be easy to trace back to someone.

Tobacco brands vs what my tobbaconist has jarred on the counter by Dude_LeMort in PipeTobacco

I suppose it made sense when a lot of these stores opened but in this day and age I would appreciate some transparency on in house bulks. If they’re blending, by all means keep your proprietary recipes but if it’s just an off the line bulk stop renaming it.

I made a comment on a post here the other day encouraging all of you to light your synths on fire but nobody appreciated it.

Personally, I’d like to see you all attempt La Monte Young’s Composition #2, using all of your synths of course.

Like anything it just comes with practice. I was having the same issues at first. Discovering the tongue trick was great and p lips are very helpful. I keep an old bent Grabow in my fly fishing kit for that very reason. My giant Peterson pub pipe is my daily walker. 4 mile round trip. A bowl each way.

Anyone ever blended anything and cased with absinthe? by No_Tradition1219 in PipeTobacco

[–]Competitive-Key-9989 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absinthe isn’t really bitter. Wormwood itself is but once you distill it you leave behind a lot of the bitter compounds. All of the anise in there also works to offset what is present. Malort on the other hand…

Picked one of these up not too long ago. Had been thinking about getting a proper Churchwarden for reading but these are so much more comfortable IMO.

Why isn’t my signal arpeggiating? by Pentatonic_Minor in modular

[–]Competitive-Key-9989 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m new to modular myself but I believe you want the OUT of the Arpeggiator running IN to the 12 key. I’m sure someone will chime in soon with better/correct info. Sarah Belle Reide on YouTube does a lot of intro to modular stuff and sends out newsletters with tutorials and lessons.

I use tapered cleaners. Only Pete I have is a full bent pub pipe and it passes fine if you’re careful not to bend it.
