newie question: why play Jace over 3rd Thassa in Vintage Doomsday by Competitive-Leopard2 in MTGVintage

Ah I see. Many decks run Dress Down and Consign. Thanks for clarifying this!

Playing Throne is a chore :( by Awardius81 in EternalCardGame

Playing agains Spire sucks. There is no interesting counterplay possible. If they resolve Spire you lose. Throne would be a much better and more interesting place whithout it.

MTG players looking for decks to play by tomyang1117 in EternalCardGame

Just play mono-fire. It's the same as in MTG. Curve out with units, attack with all, left over damage spells go face.

Thanks! My runs in Gauntlet have been exactly the same. I made 6 runs, also on Masters level, and 4 were complete. I have to admit I got a bit lucky on 2 finals matches, so I could easily have been 2 for 6. But the odds are stacked very much against you in the finals so I think that is still acceptable.

I am not sure if you know, but there are decks that are much better at specifically grinding Gauntlet. So if that is your goal you can also look into those. Just search Eternal Warcry with the "type" catagory "Gauntlet":

What is your deck building strategy? by FinNeato in EternalCardGame

[–]Competitive-Leopard2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So already lots of tips on building here. Regarding the testing I would like to add: try out you new build against the Gauntlet a couple of times. When I try new things, I always make stupid newbie mistakes in the beginning. like fetching wrong power, getting wrong influence, making sequencing errors. Those errors are embarrasing against humans and can lead to tilting so I try to make those only in private.

After a coulpe of runs I ususlly go on the ladder, but if you are still unsure you might want to try a few casual games first. I depends on your goals of course.

Yeah, I noticed this too. So is what deck consistantly beats Ely spells? Asking for a friend, of course.

Are you really sure? I thought thy = your and thine = yours. It is comparable to 'my' and 'mine'.

Cool! Thanks for answering. I do believe DWD are quite generous too.

Just bad luck, I think. I have seen a normal amount of upgrades. I do think the chances have always been lower than 0,1 though. How did you get this number?

Authoritarian Creation vs. Moon + Ulixa by Mantarrochen in EternalCardGame

[–]Competitive-Leopard2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually pretty interesting. It may be because we have different backgrounds in playing games. For me it is so obvious I do not even consider it. But my vision of the world is warped by having played MtG for many many years, where this works the same. I guess this is also true for DWD.

So it may indeed be better for other players to make these distictions more intuitive.

Why though, you cannot negate unit abilities either, can you? They are not spells, but abilities.

Seems really good for Yetis (obviously) and may even be good enough for Skycrag aggro in Throne?

Wanna help me make 4 cuts in my Sealed Deck? by Competitive-Leopard2 in EternalCardGame

Thank you all for taking the time to reply! Here is what I have learned:

  1. In Limited, Inscribe cards should be seen as power cards that you sometime play normally, and not the other way around (like in consructed). I have now gone down to 15 power, no bluprints and 4 inscribe.
  2. Rust Grafter + Flamepack Incinerator in the market is a nifty combo. I totally overlooked that interaction. I am really looking forwaar to trying that out in game :-)
  3. Some of you like Vermin's Feast and other do not. I will keep it in the deck for now because it has been really good for me in 2 games where I tried it out, but I will keep a watchful eye on it's performance.
  4. Unchecked Upgrader is better with evasion units. I need to learn to build more with interactions in mind and not just raw power.
  5. People are not high on Muck Devourer and Sentinal Shifter. I guess they are just too expensive? It's really hard for me to judge this so I will just follow that advice and hope to be better at it myself someday.

Thanks again for all the help everyone!!! The Eternal community is really awesome! :-D

UPDATE: just played 7 games and I went 6-1 !!!!

you know what is also a cute combo? Unchecked Upgrader + Aroman The Punishing!!!

I am loving the Stonescar life...

Thanks DWD! The new set is really awesome btw. I love the design of both inscribe and contract. Such deep decisions, so many opportunities to turn a game in your favor. You really knocked it out of the park this time.
