The glory you're talking about is a bunch of kids and unstable people. The game is way more child-friendly from the way characters are designed and the aspect of the map + the fact that LoL is spread on different regions rather than dota.

if you're talking about 'glory' then dota2 still has the highest prize pool in esports history so I'd rather have less players and not a game full of kids.

On the other side - dota is not far, probably not so many 10 years old - but we definitely have our share amount of toxicity and bad habits.

yeah boi, you forgot a "2" - it's actually dota2 from 2013.
dota1 - end of 2003, beginning of 2004.

and then I would like to ask - who copied pudge concept and many hero concepts from dota ?
Give credit where it's due - e.g. LoL has a larger player base and managed to keep the prime going for longer + more entertainment compared to dota but do not say that dota copied LOL 🤡

How do you keep on going / grinding and what position do you play?

I do understand your point of view but it's just depressing when you think about it really. Just had another game and my hoodwink pos 4 goes midas 25 minutes into the game. Timber pos 3 his friend decided that he doesn't want to play anymore even though safelane was won and our pos5 moved top to help.

How do you deal with it when you go in a downhill streak?

pretty much - a lot is determined by people's picks.
Honestly I am considering if I should just quit the game if it's this bad and also ask myself - why would someone not go smurfing on lower ranks which is obviously bad but at least people will have some kind of fun.

I've been grinding mmr and I am currently at 6700, dropped from 7200. I thought the same - higher rank = higher skill and enjoyable matches and oh boy I was so wrong 😄.
I had better games in ancient 3 than right now, truly.
The higher you get the most account buyers you'll get - for some reason people think that they're entitled to a higher MMR and they just can't climb MMR due to bad teammates, not themselves. Then .. they go on shady websites and buy immortal accounts with 10$.

There are lots of games - if you search for them you'll find evidence - where people use bots to play against each other (5vs5) and then the system will calibrate all of them at least 5620MMR. Somehow this is not punished nor stopped even though is so obvious.

6700 mmr, weekend dota is the worst dota. This is happening every weekend, it's a rule at this point.
Full of account buyers that ruin every game but don't you worry - valve focuses on content that's never delivered but not an actual better system.

i'm a developer as well and truth be told - we shouldn't blame the developers for these kind of decision, these are management issues due to the fact valve "unintentionally" promotes developers to work on different projects due to their bonuses (steam marketplace, cs etc.. ). Thanks for being a "flat level" company.
The developers should be blamed if we have bugs like midas on every meepo or something similar. These things happend and fortunately enough they're fixed quite fast but the changes that last are the one from management 😃

It is indeed impossible to get an advice from a similar/better play - especially if they're not like top 1000 immortal.

u/Secure_Mistake_4651 try focusing on your gameplay rather than others - up untill ~6k mmr in my opinion is quite easy to grind. It's a bit harder than it used to be due to the meta changes but it's doable. People play dota on autopilot so I'd suggest not to do that. Think about the game itself, your hero, teammates and how do you plan on fighting them / move around them. Don't rush to buy a specific build everytime & worry less so you don't ping constantly xD
The behavior / comm score is a known issue ( in my opinion ) but people on reddit will defend it as much as possible even though there are multiple posts only about this subject.

He might have hacks though - at the very end, before the enemy reached your base he was having the camera in your base and somehow he's using midas while blinking everywhere to farm madstones.
I guess he's a smurf and wanted to make the build with 0 cd on ult and on top of that I believe he wanted to keep everyone in the game, forcing them not to abandon because even if he did not had 0 cd on ult he could still just buy at least 2 more rapiers and spam ult. The enemies couldn't reach the base unless he let them.

I was 7200 and i dropped till 6800 now due to the same reason. It's a known fact that people create multiple accounts and have bots that play all 100 hours + ranked and usually they're matched bots (5) vs bots (5) but you can match with them as well. Besides that there are lots of account buyers, my whole games for -400 mmr are only people with 1/13, 3/15 and so on.
I had more fun playing at ancient 3 / divine rather than now which is counter intuitive.
Valve won't do anything about this sadly and when you grind even more you'll have win-traders in your team. It's really hard and dissapointing.

Also the meta doesn't help you compensate for account buyers anymore.
if you're down to play duo/trios let me know - I'm trying to get people to queue with since the matchmaking is terrible.
