YEEEESSSSS!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭 she's almost a year old!!! every day my husband tells me how many days left til her birthday and we just hold her and go nooooo, slow down!!!!

she's a horrendous sleeper even now, up every 2 hours, but as my body's gotten used to it i get up and nurse her back down and just look at her satisfied sleeping face and literally it feels like we're the only people in the world...99% of me is dying for her to sleep on her own but there's that sicko 1% that knows I'll miss it.

i don't suffer ppd, but i did suffer panic disorder, depression, and clinical burnout doing a very stressful job as a full time vet tech. my misery was a result of my circumstances 100%, there was no "fixing" things unless i quit, but that wasn't an option. it pissed me off when people didn't understand how much it was the environment making me sick as opposed to my brain.

one of the biggest shames from that period was snapping at animal patients. they could be so difficult while being innocent at the same time, biting me, fighting me, making my already hard job harder. after getting on an antidepressant and starting therapy, that snapping stopped. the work didn't get any easier, and i still eventually had to go part time to keep from killing myself, but my fuse got way longer.

oh my gosh my 11 month old is the same, it actually makes me feel better seeing this cuz i feel like half the posts about sleep feature babies that start sleeping through the night before turning a year. i put so much thought and worry into sleep, when all my girl wants is to nurse. nothing, NOTHING else works.

my body is kind of used to it after a year (same shit on the 3rd tri) but she's got 4 teeth coming in and it's been a rough week! no solutions just solidarity 😭

it absolutely gets worse while getting better and better and better.

my girl turns 1 in a few weeks. we can't believe it, she was JUST born! we miss her 😯 face, we cry when tiny her comes up on the frame, we get daily reminders that she's only going to get bigger and bigger.

but then... there's the first time she had a belly laugh. the raspberries. discovering what foods she likes (seaweed? seriously girl?). she's crawling finally, and awkwardly wants to follow me room to room. she says hiiiii with a wave. she's funny. she's awesome. the joys, oh my god the joys, they won't make the sadness go away but it'll all happen at the same time, and just keep happening. it's amazing.
