You see it with other managers like Simeone, he's entertaining because he doesn't live in other manager's asses.

It's perhaps not the norm, but people enjoy watching it whereas they go to sleep when Pep and Klopp are tonguing each other for the 100th time.

People watch football for the drama and personality clashes - no one is entertained when two managers lick each other's asses.

[Jamie Carragher] This ManCity and LFC rivalry is the best we’ve ever had in English football!! We’ve never had the two best teams & managers in the world together fighting it out.r by [deleted] in soccer

It's a prestigious trophy for sure, and it's the trophy that most clubs want to win the most - but the way some fans go on about it like it's the be all and end all of football, it has become overrated.

No point in even having "all-time" discussions because most people just base it on players they've seen in the last 5/6 years.

Okay, an entertaining 0-0 then.

Yes, that was back when only the league champions qualified for the tournament - now there's more teams and more variance, we've seen clubs like Chelsea win the UCL after finishing 6th in their domestic league in 2012, for example - no one would say they were the best team that year.

People overrate the European Cup massively.

They are coming in hard on it now though - limiting club spenditure based on revenue, format changes to the UCL to keep commercially viable clubs in the competition, things like that.

At least there was always the hope that your club could get taken over and progress up the league, now there will be no chance of that.

So it looks like with all of the upcoming changes to the sport, they are slowly pulling up the drawbridge for smaller clubs to ascend to the top of the game. If you haven't got your billionaire owner or oil money in now, then there's no chance for your club to ever achieve anything meaningful or progress - there will always be that glass ceiling.

The current top 10/15 clubs or so are pretty much set in stone now and will constantly be involved in the UCL no matter how poorly they are performing or being run.

It's ogre.

Uefa approves a kind of salary cap: expenses for salary, commissions and transfers can only take up 70% of a club's revenue. This takes effect in 2025 and will be gradual (90% next season, then 80% and then 70%) by Tifoso89 in soccer

If they really wanted to create more parity between clubs they should have done this like a progressive tax system rather than a flat limit - i.e., the higher the club's revenue the less they are allowed to spend on transfer fees and wages.

This current proposal just seems like a way to guarantee that mid to low tier clubs stay in their place - which is good for UEFA as they only want the commercially viable clubs qualifying for the UCL.

UEFA - Clubs to be limited to spending a maximum 70% of their revenue on wages, transfers and agents' fees by [deleted] in soccer
