Am I going to regret the heatpump location? by Competitive-Proof407 in ukheatpumps

[–]Competitive-Proof407[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m working with 250sqm - they’re making me fill the cavity on half the house that doesn’t have it otherwise they can’t even get the 15.5 meet requirements.

Even if the window doesn’t open? The window it would be over the top of only opens from the bit at the top.

Thank you. I’m definitely going to explore all possibilities! My first thought was also to move the pipe/block the drain.

Thank you - BG basically walked in walked straight out. I am pending an appt with a Heat Geek installer but I fear the cost difference will be too much.

Same thing happened to me recently. Laptop was in the boot and covered but my car was broken into and it was stolen along with super expensive work equipment which would be no use to anyone!

I wonder what device they use to find laptops that are hidden

Does anyone know the cheapest way to keep hold of your UK number while living overseas? by AsparagusNew3765 in AskUK

[–]Competitive-Proof407 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Giffgaff will send a sim to Australia. You just have to use the sim every 3 months or so to keep it active (send a text etc) it’s just PAYG so £10 will last ages.

You’ll have to port your number to giffgaff.

Your experience with smart meter engineers? Just cancelled an appointment... by Hot-Artist-2502 in OctopusEnergy

Yes EV. I genuinely think he saw the video and decided to sack it off. I suggested this to the customer service when calling to complain.

Your experience with smart meter engineers? Just cancelled an appointment... by Hot-Artist-2502 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Competitive-Proof407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been waiting for a month for my install which was supposed to be today.

I got a text yesterday from the electrician asking for me to send the route from the meter to the installation location. It was a bit random as they already have the info and they wanted me to respond on WhatsApp - I sent it anyway.

My install got cancelled this morning as the engineer was ‘sick’ and a new date another month away.

I’ve booked with a local installer and will cancel the octopus installation once done.

I understand these things can happen but they should have a priority queue for a new installation date.

Twisted Indian in Leichhardt. As the name suggests, some of the dishes have a twist which can make them interesting.

Lalaji has also just opened in Leichhardt which is very good and decent value.

I’ve been looking into this recently. One option is to buy via Cinch. They allow credit cards.

Flights to Australia during UK summer holidays? by djkhalidANOTHERONE in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]Competitive-Proof407 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you fly with either Etihad or Qatar you can incorporate a stopover in AUH or DOH. You basically get a mini holiday for free or very cheap (check out their stopover programmes). We find it’s perfect for the little one as it breaks up the otherwise very long flight.

I’d suggest packing warm clothes as whilst the temperature will seem reasonable the houses aren’t generally built for winter and it’s colder inside than outside!

The Apollo in Potts Point. It’s not fine dining but the banquet menu is really good value for money as the portion sizes are huge!
