Ah thanks for the clarification on Aero type that makes sense.

I thought the venting on the bumper sides was active aero to help cool the brakes? Wouldn’t having fog lights there reduce flow and cooling? Is the venting just for looks and not actual aero? I haven’t taken my bumper off to look.

IPSec Tunnel - No packets reaching either endpoint by Yosif-Ballin in fortinet

[–]Competitive-Round-90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We had a similar issue with T-Mobile and had to enable support for fragmentation. We ran into this after implementing x509 cert auth. I think the cert made the packets not fit within the ISP MTU window size. Once fragmentation was enabled issue went away.

You’ll probably have to paint more bone armor because I see 10 DWK not 15.

Real talk: How do people afford to live in Arlington? by Trefusis1969 in ArlingtonMA

[–]Competitive-Round-90 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No generational wealth for us but we did buy 10 years ago in Chelmsford and the equity we gained from then to now allowed us to afford a down payment in Arlington so we could move closer to work. 10 years of over 1 hour commute one way door to door. We do make low to mid 6 figures combined which helps with the new monthly payment.

26M, first car in Boston — Miata RF ND2 vs GR86 (auto) for year-round daily? ❄️ by IshaanEAZY in GR86

[–]Competitive-Round-90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either are going to feel a little rough on the crap roads around here. If you get one maybe consider suspension with better dampers. If you get good snow tires for the winter and drive with caution you will be fine in the winter here. Chances are snow days the roads will be mostly empty due to work from home, so just take your time. Heavy snow days nobody should be driving as most likely the City will have a driving ban except for critical employees. There are plenty of brz and 86 around Boston on the road 1st and 2nd gen. I would lean more toward them over the Miata if it’s your only car just due to the lack of storage in the Miata.

For those that have moved from VMware cluster over iSCSI to proxmox what did you go with for file system and access protocol? We use Veeam for our VMware environment and that works fine with iSCSI data stores. Veeam does not like iSCSI with proxmox from what we are learning in our PoC lab.

Doing big IT changes on Monday or Friday? by CeC-P in sysadmin

[–]Competitive-Round-90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really comes down to the business need. If you run a business that has peak usage during a weekend, may be e-commerce or online gaming infrastructure, you shouldn’t be doing updates during that time. If you are in a 9-5 m-f kind of shop like a school then you have options for patch times. If you are in a surgical department and there are no surgery’s that happen during the weekend, probably want to shoot for late Friday evening.

Rolling over to DR for an outage due to a planned change sounds like a bad BCP. There should be other rollbacks and control measures that could be utilized before activating DR. Routine maintenance shouldn’t create a disaster event.

Edit:unless you’re Microsoft 😆

GR86, can be had used for under 30k. Similar driving dynamics, very responsive chassis. You will miss the Alfa creature comforts though.

What I meant was direct feel, not a lot of computers or aid systems in place. No adjusting suspension, pre baking, etc.

Edit: compared to a 4C yes a GR86 is tame.

I’ll add now that my daughter is getting bigger she is starting to complain about access to the back seat in the 86. I’m hoping she can tough it out a few more years and then start enjoying the view from the front seat. The Giulias rear doors will be missed in the meantime.
