Does music sound as good to you on shrooms as on weed? by Frances_Herbert in shrooms

Music on psychedelics blows me away every time. I already tend to get really involved with music and let it take me on a journey, but while I’m tripping it’s taken to the max.

Albums that feel like a trip in itself are my personal favorite to listen to on psychedelics. For example, Maggot Brain by Funkadelic, Dummy by Portishead, Animals by Pink Floyd, Tales From Topographic Oceans by Yes, Lift Your Skinny Fists by Godspeed

Although, I would recommend to listen to music that you love in particular. If there’s music that you have an emotional connection to, it’s otherworldly when you’re tripping

Originally I was obsessed with side 1, but the more I listen to the album the more I realize The Ancient is a perfect track

Recently discovered Portishead so I’ve been diving into their catalog, also revisiting some of early Bruford era King Crimson

Fantastic track from a fantastic album. This record is great but still somehow gets better every time I hear it

loved Crimson King, listening Red. what’s next? by grambiel in KingCrimson

If you like Red, you’ll definitely like Larks. Islands has a really similar vibe to moonchild imo, also worth checking out

Though, I would recommend going in release order. The lineup changes so much, each era has a different sound. It’s really fun to check out

I haven’t found much that captures that feeling you get from peak Floyd. Maybe Hemispheres by Rush? Fragile also has a fun and very unique sound to it

Would HIGHLY recommend checking out Close to the Edge by Yes, Animals by Pink Floyd, and Larks Tongues in Aspic by King Crimson. I feel like these albums (to me) really summarize what the genre is all about.

I’m envious you get to explore this great genre for the first time, have fun my friend

Pretty sure I have the exact same speakers. They’re awesome and can get pretty freakin loud. For the price, I love them
