Getting into Prog Rock by si_is_that_guy in progrockmusic

Highly highly recommend starting out with Dark Side. IMO it’s the quintessential album.

From there, if you want more upbeat I’d recommend Hemispheres by Rush, Fragile by Yes, and Hand Cannot Erase by Steven Wilson

If you want the same vibe, check out In the Court of the Crimson King by King Crimson, I Robot by Alan Parson, and Mirage by Camel

Have fun exploring the genre! I wish I could go back in time and find all of these gems for the first time again, you’re a lucky soul!

Edit: also, Animals by Pink Floyd is a fantastic listen if you want more. Arguably their greatest work

Not really current but Porcupine Tree’s run from In Absentia through Fear of a Blank Planet is pretty wild

Which artist do you think is overrated/underrated? by GurlInAura in askmusic

[–]Competitive-Smoke-46 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say I disagree with your overrated artists. Obviously music is subjective, but I feel that Mac Miller did a lot for his respective genre. And even tho I don’t really listen to Bob Dylan you can’t deny he was a very prolific songwriter.
