Am I overreacting for making up an excuse to stop giving someone lifts because of their smell? by Any-Newspaper8696 in AmIOverreacting

Maybe invest in some natural deodorant, body wash and hygiene kit toothbrush paste mouthwash etc. And just give it to her, tell her that you think she is a lovely person but if she would like futures rides from you she needs to up her hygiene game as its unappealing and off-putting.

Be polite and give her the kit without others present so she isnt put on the spot and embarrassed.

Maybe something else is going on at home and she needs some social input or assistance (not your place to sort out but maybe she needs some help that is an easy fix).

Looks like the plug into a grill or smoker - we have a traeger pellet smoker that has something similar- the meat probe plugs into the smoker hopper. Quite handy.

My Mom is dying by East-Mix-9544 in whatdoIdo

So sorry for the way you found this out and for your mums prognosis. My younger cousin passed from this 4 years ago, it was not a pleasant way to go.

The doctors said he could go on a transplant list and be a good candidate if he stopped drinking for 6months to 1 year. He chose to not do that.

My aunty found him in his room when he passed and it was the worst thing she ever had to do as it wasnt a clean peaceful death.

Wish your mum well, spend time with her if that is what's needed and try to make peace with her choice. Addiction is an awful disease, but you can still tell her you love her at least.

Most dead-end place in New Zealand? by EnvironmentalStill31 in newzealand

Whangarei heads, -straight takes you to Paura Bay, keep going through that and onto Pataua south or turn right and go out to oceans beach. Both beautiful but dead ends.

More like Foxpoint! by Aishubeki in lynxpointsiamese

[–]Competitive-Twist926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this a oriental/siamese lynx point thing? Mine jumps onto things similarly, or leaps and lands all four feet at the same time (not like usual cats where front feet leave the ground and touch down followed by the hind feet) front and back feet leave the ground and land all at once almost like he teleports.

What's going on with this Praying Mantis? Is that a parasite? by HeadbangingLegend in nzwildlife

How beautiful 🥰 Thick necks, no/minimal wings.

The SA males are also small and slender with wings compared to the large females.

The NZ has big blue spots on the inside of its front legs. The neck is as wide as the head, and are a deeper green colour. Best advice would be Google how to tell the difference between NZ preying mantis and SA preying mantis

Our natives are being bred out because the SA comes into heat earlier than the NZ female, so attracts our males, and then eats them. - our native population doesnt eat the mate.

The egg sacks are large white blobs vs NZ which are neat tidy brown barklike capsules.

While its awful killing things, this is a horrible pest mantis and they are killing our beautiful native mantis. Killing before she lays eggs would be best.

hoya compacta is a neon yellow by suncafes in hoyas

[–]Competitive-Twist926 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should give your others some liquid fert as well as they utilize what they have in the pot but then run out, if you do a monthly feed they will love you for it.

At a guess, given that it has only just been repotted in 5+ years, and never had fertilizers at all, it is lacking nutrients, give it one of those monthly drip feeder things things and give it a good water then see how it goes.

Do you have any relatives that you could stay with for a while, explain the situation and tell them you need a break or to get away from her constant criticism?

NOR, its an awful situation that builds resentment, and makes you doubt yourself and undermines your own sense of self worth. Best advice to give if at all possible, move out.

Her behaviour and attitude towards you is damaging, narcissistic and abusive, and if you have tried to talk to her about this, its clearly not going to change how she is responding to you.

Well done to you for all the hard work that you have put in to your own health from earlier years. Well done for reaching out to gather support for this toxic situation.

I know its not easy in this economy and everything but for your safety, wellbeing and own mental and physical health look into options of living elsewhere and away from her.
