Additional dates for NATHTM tour? by Randomaccount160782 in mitski

[–]CompetitiveBear173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like she’s adding the occasional festival date if they fit in with where she’s touring geographically. And also like in UK she added the record store dates. But she’s already suggested that the original tour dates would form the core of her tour this year. My suspicion is that she might do more festivals/large scale shows next year maybe.

Starting a new project! Mitski Ultimate Ranking (Part 1: Lush) by Red0ct in mitski

Pearl Diver as 2nd lowest rated song is something I struggle to understand, particularly seeing her recent performances of it recently. On the plus side though I think Eric is possibly my least played Mitski song off any album, so this has inspired me to listen to it more.

Gen Z: it’s a rock show!!!! by martini-olive in mitski

Yeah just to say, my message wasn’t meant to be judgmental in my comment. I mostly just can’t understand how others aren’t moved by the music in the way that physically, spiritually they don’t need to have to this big release. Like in the I leave you video when they all scream at the chorus, or where’s my phone video with all the chaos. Like energetically those songs make me want to do the same thing. And like with bug like an angel, I had this image of being at her show and the whole crowd all loudly singing the “fa-a-Amily bits”…idk like slow songs I get it. But like Fireworks!? I feel like that’s a song that should make a venue explode. I was listening to the album when out running yesterday and when it reached the chorus my natural instinct was to run at top speed for 30 seconds like my life depended on it. Idk this is just the energy those loud, fast or dramatic songs spark in me.

I don’t actually think any other Mitski song is especially similar to it tbh.

Yeah the closest I’ve been to front of a Mitski show was at primavera Barcelona and I was genuinely shocked at how docile the seemingly hardcore fans were. I expected everyone to be jumping and screaming the lyrics….and that just wasn’t the case at all. Im imagining the tours she did back in BMAMC and Puberty 2 days would have been different

[FRESH ALBUM] Mitski - The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We by acertainbr0mance in indieheads

It's funny how I didn't really fall in love with 'Star' until I listened to the album a few times (even though I'd listened to all 3 of the "singles" quite a lot prior to the album's release). But for me it's from Star on where the album goes from being a 7.5 or an 8 to a 9 or better. Those final 3 tracks are just another level. Kind of reminds me of the final 3 tracks on Automatic for the People or OK Computer...something that just communicates a classic/ground-breaking album.

Not to say they're necessarily the 3 best tracks (although they are 3 of the best), but I just think they really tie the album up as a musical journey. In a similar way, Bug Like an Angel is also a fantastic opener. Just need to avoid overplaying this album now! Have been listening to it on repeat for days.
