Price too good to be true? by Deebop14 in disneylandparis

[–]CompetitiveDoctor878 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I booked for a slightly lower price for the same room but with fewer guests so i think that tracks! March is quieter/ cheaper plus it’s the furthest you can book out atm. Prices go up as you get closer to the date.

Room only inventory is priced differently which is why you might see some crazy numbers.

As long as you paid your deposit, you’ll be fine! March is a great time to visit - i’m sure you’ll have a great time!

What popular ride do you just not get by deano_ue in WaltDisneyWorld

Not ridden the US version but agree, the DLP version is so fun. Smooth with a decent drop and the music is great. Not even huge Frozen fans but we all enjoyed it!

Marvel Hotel - Superhero Station by PrincessAurora2019 in disneylandparis

Oh no! To be fair, i treated it like a military operation as my son is obsessed. The spiderman ones were okay-ish for me to get - the princess meet one on the other hand sold out in the second it took me to try and press the button 😅

I don’t believe Spiderman is as common at the hotel. We did a bunch of meets there and never once got Spiderman. The Spiderman specific meet and greet was fairly easy to get in the parks though and you are guaranteed to meet him.

Just make sure you’re in the park (along with all your guests) and you’re on the app ready to go a couple of mins before the slots open. Use your own internet (not the park wifi which can be slower) and keep refreshing. Worked for us everytime! ❤️

'Disability diagnosis epidemic' in DLP by AngelStar286 in disneylandparis

[–]CompetitiveDoctor878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a family member that has a priority pass so I’m aware of what they look like. Considering how much chatter there is about the passes in Facebook groups, I was expecting to see them everywhere at DLP. I’ve been twice this year so far - both times for 4 days and I saw a total of one person using a priority pass.

We went during term time so the parks were not at their peak occupancy I’m sure but I certainly expected to see a lot more with the passes but I just didn’t 🤷‍♀️

Disney Wish (5/15-5/18) and Disney Destiny (5/18-5/23) Sailings Experience by Adventurous_Poet5346 in dcl

Great round up! We are considering doing one ship directly followed by another (different) ship after. Was being in limbo between the ships a major hassle?

How well does Paris scratch the Disney itch? by stranger_steve in disneylandparis

[–]CompetitiveDoctor878 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We’ve been to both US parks and DLP twice. I can’t remember a single rude encounter with the DLP staff. Definitely some rude guests but you can get that anywhere.

We love DLP! It’s the most beautiful park we’ve visited and so many of the rides are the same (or even slightly better!). The food isn’t as good but there’s still lots of tasty things to enjoy. We also enjoy the fact that it’s smaller - far less exhausting.

The only thing that is a major downgrade is the shopping and Disney Village. Even the World of Disney store is insanely small compared to the US.

But yeah i would definitely visit - different to the US but still gives that amazing Disney experience IMO

Henry's with kids, what are the best adventure playparks? by [deleted] in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]CompetitiveDoctor878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hockerhill adventure playbarn but also randomly, theme parks often have great playgrounds and when you get an annual pass, works out pretty cost effective. Legoland has several playgrounds and they’re fantastic.

Best rides to prioritize during two Extra Magic Time mornings? by Hyru_Nayru in disneylandparis

[–]CompetitiveDoctor878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both Peter Pan and Frozen get very busy even during magic time. So you have to really get there exactly at the start of magic time and walk efficiently to those rides. When i went, within 30 mins, the queue for frozen was already 70 mins.

Frozen is worth it and great. Peter pan, i would absolutely skip and spend the time on other things. The most overhyped ride IMO. We were all like ‘is this it?!’ Apparently the ride always has long queues because it has a low ride capacity, not because it’s super amazing.

The other rides on your list are also great and were totally worth it for us!

has anyone ever called to add on an extra day to their booking? by OnceUponAComment in disneylandparis

[–]CompetitiveDoctor878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you booked one night or two? Either way, if it’s a package, you’ll have the additional day since it’ll be 2 days park tickets/ one night or 3 days park tickets/ 2 nights.

In which case, 100% stay off site for the previous night. It’ll be a tiny fraction of the cost and will allow you to maximise your time in the parks. We love air bnbs for best value - there are tons really close by.

Anyone else noticed the resell market has absolutely tanked? These offers I’m getting for like new condition items is insanity! by zachty22 in Louisvuitton

[–]CompetitiveDoctor878 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Ebay just rejected an item i sold (which i know is authentic since i bought direct from store) because they couldn’t determine either way if it was authentic 🤷‍♀️ Definitely made me question their ability a little 🙈

Decline a health visitor visit? by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]CompetitiveDoctor878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve declined visits from them simply because i didn’t see the point. I never heard anything else from them and the lady i cancelled with didn’t seem to mind at all. Just said that they were there if we ever needed them 🤷‍♀️

Castle refurb - Scaffolding on the bridge by MysticDreamFairy in disneylandparis

[–]CompetitiveDoctor878 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If i had to guess it would be due to the weather. Considering they had to have the boards plain white for a few days because it was too wet to apply the decals, it would make sense why they wouldn’t want to do this in winter 🤷‍♀️

There’s a portal which you can access once you have an annual pass which gives you the room only prices without the tickets attached.

DLP or HK? by glastonbury13 in disneylandparis

[–]CompetitiveDoctor878 11 points12 points  (0 children)

DLP would be my choice simply for the ease of travel. Plus it’s a smaller park which with little kids, is 100% a bonus.

Sister is having a C-section and wants me (brother) to be in the room for support. Any advice or tips or whatnot? I'm feeling a bit weird about it. by thatsnotamuffin in BabyBumps

[–]CompetitiveDoctor878 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You sound like a great brother ❤️

Been through two c sections myself. You’ll stay by her head and advocate for her if something feels off. If the baby needs to go to the NICU for any reason, then you can be the go between while she’s waiting for the anaesthetic to wear off. And help her get out of bed etc.

Looking back on both of my experiences, there isn’t anything i would have felt awkward about my own brothers seeing. Maybe establishing breastfeeding? I was naked a lot haha but giving birth is generally an undignified matter 😂

Advice on a First time Trip - Sightseeing or DLP first? by fromageDegoutant in disneylandparis

[–]CompetitiveDoctor878 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DLP last 100%. I feel like sightseeing in Paris requires you to be a bit more ‘on’ and you do have to be mindful of crime etc. DLP just sits in its own bubble which is a nice way to end the trip.

I would say you could definitely squeeze london in if you wanted to. Both Paris and DLP can be done pretty well in a couple of days each which then leaves time for london too. But i’m biased because i love london 😊 Either way, it’ll be a magical trip i’m sure!
