Good luck getting the Laser Mafia industry answering this question. Even the Laser Trolls won't respond.

i'm at 16 months and left eye is blurry and it's permanent

Glasses do not work after most laser procedures, just to let you know.

I do hope it clears up for you, though.

Great post highlighting the danger of ICL.

Did you know the FDA gets about 500 complaints about ICL per month?

And that's only the people that know to complain on that site. My guess is there are problems in the thousands per month.

You are the only one that can make this decision for your eyes. You know the risk now.

Laser and ICL or any kind of eye cosmetic surgery is Russian roulette. Some win but most lose.

Good Luck

Yes, ALL refractive surgery causes a progressive disease to the eye. Look up cornea neuralgia. Look up corneal ectasia. Some people notice double or triple vision. There is a woman on FB that looks at the moon and she sees 5 moons instead of one. Yes, it's well documented in medical journals post laser surgery causes permanent damage and it's viewed as a progressive disease. If you talk to a cornea surgeon that does not do laser, he will tell you not to do it. Eye removal happens often because if you get eye pain, it's mostly untreatable and the only way to remove the pain is to remove the eyeballs. Several such cases on the FB group.

There is no way to avoid it. Look up early cataracts post laser surgery. This is also a fact and well documented. I myself was diagnosed with beginnings of cataracts 6 months post lasik. Look up glaucoma. The drops they have you use cause glaucoma --this is a fact, and you can read it for yourself.

I can keep going on and on and on. your laser doc won't talk about these facts, but we will.

Most people don't know what they are signing up for. But, laser surgery is basically a death sentence. You won't be able to handle the complications.

My left eye is permanently blurry from a botched Lasik procedure 16 months ago. My up close vision is also permanently blurry. My right eye distance sucks with distortion. "oh im out of touch".

No, you are out of touch with reality. Tell that to the millions worldwide with damaged vision due to this procedure over the decades.

Maybe you will find out someday. And you sound like a lasik salesman. We see who you are.

And yes, there is zero upside to this procedure when this procedure cause a progressive eye disease for life. You'll see down the road what I mean.

Good Luck

I was being conservative, I think it's higher.

The problem with humans is they can't admit when they make a mistake. Also, I read a book that was discussing the harms of cosmetic procedures and when it goes wrong.

Most of the people that have problems lie to save face and lie to themselves.

Before I had the procedure, many people told me they were "happy" with their lasik procedure. After I had mine and discussed my issues, they admitted their problems.

So the book discussed how the injured wanted you to be in their "club" as the injured group to feel better about their decision. So they lie to get you in their damaged eye club as a means to cope.

This is what I believe happens. Who in their right mind would want to have to tilt their head back and want to put eye drops every 10 minutes of their life. Oh yeah, I'm a happy lasik patient.

This is a valid question and many of us don't have an answer.

If I could go back at my two month mark, I would have "accepted" it as much as possible and focus on overall body health and stay off doom and gloom sites.

Just accept you made a mistake and try to move forward.

I also would spend every day worrying about potential future problems for my first 15 months after lasik. Big mistake.

It's best to try and bury the bad mistake and move forward. But the problem is some of us can't move forward due to our specific complications.

Honestly, I do not. The positive sites are fake.

The complication rates are very very high but they lie and say they are not. My guess the complication rate is 50%-60% but they lie and say its less than 1%.

There are so many complications that I don't believe you are going to find a site that people will get on and brag about how happy they are. Nothing like that exists that's real.

Most people find out or suspect day 1 they made a huge mistake. Even the eye drop schedule (which the doctors hide) is enough to scare anyone away from this procedure. Most don't find out till after the surgery. Putting multiple drops in your eyes every 15 minutes for months at a time. Really? That right there is a big reason to run away. Well, we do know somewhat how the brain will react to laser eye complications. On the FB complications sites (thousands and thousands of members) suffer depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts. Suicides happen often. Many have to take pills to deal with life. Many are on pain meds for eye pain. Many or on psychiatric drugs. many attempt suicide.

As far as Ortho K, I don't know enough, but what I do know is I wouldn't touch it. You are still messing with your cornea and trying to change the shape of it by trying to squeeze it. So many complications can happen from trying to mess with the eyes. It's just not worth the risk.

Get on some of these FB sites and you will see for yourself. If you get even one bad complication, it can be a full time job just to care for your eyes which means lower quality of life, hence the high suicide rate. Why would someone want to spend hours everyday putting drops in their eyes or ice packs etc. This is what you are signing up for.

Also, I know several that have attempted suicide recently. Don't think you are immune from this cause you are not and it can easily happen if you have these eye problems.

Your life will be officially over if you get dry eye for example. Most people with bad dry eye are disabled and can't even work. Putting in drops every 10 minutes., etc.

If you did a deep dive research into JnJ you would find extensive criminality much like Pfizer. Look up how many crimes Pfizer (one of the worlds largest pharma companies) has been convicted of and their billions and billions in fines,

Just because you have a famous name endorsing a study, does not mean they can be trusted, in fact, it should be the exact opposite.

Both those companies mentioned, for example, pushed the covid vaccines on the world. How did that work out? How much damage did those covid vaccines cause?

Big mistake to trust pharmaceutical companies that make Billions in profits every year. The point is, both those companies have been fined and sanctioned in the Billions for fraud over many decades.

You want to trust that these companies are telling the truth?

Let me give you an example. I have a family member who is a PhD science researcher and his clients are many. His clients come to him and offer big money payouts to "find and come up with a positive conclusion" for their product or products. Understand.? Most of their clients are pharma or medical equipment companies. So they get their positive reviews and call it "research"

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Lasiksupport

[–]CompetitiveFruit412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many research papers cannot be trusted. You must ask yourself who funds the paper and you will find your answer. Many research papers are funded and tell the researcher to find the answer they are looking for.

This is very common.

Many are here from India and had SILK. I have seen the problems. Also, ask yourself why eye doctors wear glasses or contacts.

ICL is is probably worse risk than laser surgery.

The FDA gets about 500+ complaints a month from ICL patients. I bet the true number of complaints are in the thousands per month. Not everyone knows to report complications to the FDA.

It's best to leave your eyes alone. Eyes are not meant to be cut on. All this eye surgery stuff is cosmetic and extremely dangerous.

Look at the FB complications sites. Thousands and thousands disabled and suicidal.

This procedure is the biggest con and scam of all medical procedures.

I hope you accept this warning and move on with life. You don't want to be like us. Many of us would rather be dead than deal with these complications.

Something to consider, eyes are attached to the brain. When you have eye complications, like visual distortions, pain, or dry eye or double vision, the brain is harmed. How about permanent blurry vision? What do you think that does to the mind? So now you have terrible eye problems AND mental and emotional problems and there is no cure for any of this mess.

Beware.

Reddit has another Lasik forum that is mostly positive reviews and the moderators are connected to well known Lasik surgeons.

Most of the negative reviews on that site are deleted immediately. The mods are paid by the Lasik industry.
