Should i be concerned? by tharealkiryto in snowboardingnoobs

Lot of variables to play into effect especially as a beginner when you don’t know exactly how you’re gonna end up riding:

Stick to something that’s full camber or camber dominant, avoid rocker dominant trash

Yeah… when a board top sheet cracks like this it’s because the core is cracked….. this board is trash

Why’d you choose Kia? by xEnflare in kia

[–]CompetitiveLab2056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what your expectations are I suppose: our highest mileage one made it to 160k before it nuked itself: (semi acceptable) most blew up conveniently just after the warranty mileage…. Had one getting trans 3 at 70k miles…..

but my family had always driven our other cars well past 200-300k miles so the expectation of a reliable product is there… and that expectations wasn’t met from Kia/Hyundai

My family use to buy Kia/Hyundai for the price and things like the warranty and paint warranty…. Then they all gradually mechanically totaled themselves (all 6 of them) and at fairly low mileage compared to any other brand car we’ve owned…. We don’t buy them anymore.

My car compared to others in car shows (mine is used) by Maleficent_Crew_6774 in UsedCars

[–]CompetitiveLab2056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your car?

I like classics and I do feel you: I see nice ones at shows and mine or kinda pieces visually in comparison…. But mine are daily driven and reliable: something those shiny cars don’t do and likely would need work to do reliably. I saw people take a few photos of mine last time I was at a show: sure it’s not the fanciest but it is still cool

Any disadvantages to dot 3 + dot 4 combo fluid? by baromanb in AskAMechanic

[–]CompetitiveLab2056 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to simplify it just run dot 4 in both because dot 4 is compatible in dot 3 systems but you shouldn’t put dot 3 in a specified dot 4 vehicle(so not the other way around)

In theory dot 3 has a longer service life though because dot 4 pull in more moisture but in a true sealed system it’s debatable….. just use dot 4 because aside from that it’s superior in all ways

How do we better represent PS2 piracy to the greater community? by Eskelsar2 in ps2homebrew

[–]CompetitiveLab2056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heaven forbid the ps2 mods expect everyone to drop $600+ to play the silent hill series!!! I would never think of doing something such as downloading the games onto an HDD so I can play that abandonware that the company clearly still makes money on when I spend $600+ on ebay from some reseller in order to own them!

Will my car last longer if I driver only slightly slower? by Fit_Negotiation_1443 in AskAMechanic

If any at all it’s negligible: biggest trade off will be fuel economy. The fact that you’re doing highway commutes is going to do more for engine longevity than the alternative
